Long answer short, schools could decide 2 grades for $60 or $120. Some schools charge based on students competency, while others charge by the grades for obvious reasons.
Reviving this thread to ask about the Foundation levels for young kids, seems like a lot of new changes are being made.
My son took Foundation 1 and 2 together last year and was charged $60 by the school. This year my daughter is to take Foundation 1 and 2, but the charge is $120 for both grades, $60 x 2. The school insisted that it was mandated by STF but I only saw that STF left it to the school to administer the grading for Foundation 1 and 2. I called JH Kim and they said that if you take Foundation 1 & 2 under them it would be $60 for both.
I’m now in a mind to withdraw my daughter from the school, maybe the registration and uniform fee may be more expensive in the long run but I don’t like being taken for a ride monetarily. This doesn’t bode well for the future when I cannot trust the school.
Wanted to check if the school is correct that Foundation 1 & 2 have to be charged separately? Also what is the experience for other parents in other schools. Thanks
I went for STF black belt grading recently, after holding black tip and stopped for 20 years. The school did not charge me for the refresh of basic 1 to 8. -

Besides praying, might as well start mountain biking or running or anything new to get you occupied. Kids would be overly excited abt yolo, nothing else matters to them.
Thanks everyone for your advice.
To be frank there is not much we can say now, as it will be construed as not having trust in her.
Guess can only pray hard there is enough common sense to work this through... -

Good post Lassie girl! Understand your intent as these are exactly what my children went through, especially transitioning from teenage to young adults.
Looks like some parents might be barking up the wrong tree. It will be great if one could understand the conversations we are having here instead of jumping in with what’s trending on social media, and to read all 3 paragraphs instead of cutting and pasting only paragraphs 1 and 3. Let’s not jump and think that others are trying to judge u. Instead of nitpicking others’ parenting methods and ideas, I believe this forum is to share positive energies and methods that worked for their children and hope others can benefit too. If adults don’t want to learn from others, no one can stop u, and nobody will.
One of the things I hope to teach my kids is to form their own opinion when they see what’s on social media, and not to simply consume what’s trending. In all social settings and discussions, it is important to teach them to be the sensible one and walk away if there are certain conversations that seems to be going nowhere.. There is also no need to justify what we think is correct if someone refuses to be brought up the curve. To allow others to have their views and to try to understand what others mean, and to practice empathy when required.
Parenting (and adulting) is a balancing act - different folks different strokes.
Ciao.

RE: All About Taekwondo
Both my daughters stopped at 1st poom during primary school at STF, continue with STA and attained 3rd dan junior and 2nd dan senior. Both converted to senior black with STF. My younger continue to pursue her senior 3rd dan with STA and elder one had stopped. My intent is for both to be able to develop mental and self defense skills. I got to know the younger one intend to take up TKD as CCA in JC. I already hands off both, as I felt they are more or less there.
