Any idea how many PV Mgs has this year?

I think MGS does not have PV , P2B mainly for GRC leaders and Methodist church members

Yes, correct.

MGS don't have PV -
for parents eager to enrol their daughter(s) in.

for Phase 2B -
only 2 way(s) to enter.
either enter via Methodist church membership, or come in via Grassroot Leaders Activity GRC route.
if from church -
must be a Methodist church member, not any other Christian denomination.
(not Presbyterian, nor Baptist, Charismatic , Free Evangelical, Seventh Day Adventist, etc)

MGS do have PSG (Parents Support Group).
It is called PSG, but not PV (for outsiders).

PSG is for in-house parents -
whose children are currently enrolled students, studying inside MGS primary.
Yes, you are right phtthp. MGS PSG is very active and well-organized according to my friend who is a PV in MSG PSG. She entered via Methodist church membership.

Some tips to consider which school to choose.

1) Please look at the CCAs offered for both schools and see which are those which match your child's interests.

2) Find out about how involved is their Parent Support Group as it is a good network for you to tap on to mingle with parents from different levels.

3) Check the curriculum offered by both schools.
Some schools engaged external trainers to come in to conduct Chinese Speech and Drama class for English and Chinese. Some schools have good e-learning collaborations such as http://www.learnlogy.com

4) Find out from existing lower and upper primary parents how the children interact in school. You won't want to place your child in a school with bad bullies.

5) Go to the school personally to ask for school tour if possible to look at facilities offered in the school.

hello, just some stats for your consideration for these 2 schools :

1) TMPS --> balloting for SC within 1km in Phase 2C for many past years.
2) BGPS --> balloting for SC within 1 ~ 2km only at Phase 2CS typically.

There was a poll in the thread \"Bedok Primary School\", and if I remember correctly, TMPS is the 2nd choice school after RSS in bedok area. So you may want to consider whether you want to take the risk of balloting in TMPS at Phase 2C.

There was a year (Think 2 or 3 years back) where BGPS needs balloting for SC within 1km in Phase 2CS.

So if you are unsuccessful in your ballot at TMPS at Phase 2C, and it happens BGPS needs balloting for within 1km for SC at Phase 2CS this year....---> this is a potential risk you have to take.

But all the above will not be relevant if you are Grassroots etc and have the option to go in at Phase 2B. For TMPS, last few years Phase 2B balloting for SC more than 2km.

Best of luck!

Hi

Is your kid in one of the schools? How you find Bedok Green Primary?
Thanks for your advice.

Hi all,

Starting from our batch this year, MOE changed the rule that 40 slots will be taken out and allocate to phase 2B and 2C. I am applying for Phase 2A(2) with Nan Hua Pri as I am ex-student. But this school past history always left 30+ slots for Phase 2B and 2C. So I have a strong feeling this year Phase 2A2 will start balloting!
I am using my mum’s address to register and it will fall within 1-2km although she stay within 1KM. So during the 2 days registeration for Phase 2A2 before it close registeration, will the school let us know if balloting will likely occur for those staying 1-2km or >2km? So I can have a backup plan to de-register and register for my hubby’s pri school before phase 2A2 closed.

Anyone have the same situation of choosing the school using Phase 2A with highly chance of getting balloting due to the 40 slots allocation to 2B/C?

Same situation as you! I have been telling my DS that he will be going to study in his sister's ex-school since he was born....But now, based on the school's registration history, most likely cannot get in as we are more than 2km away. 😢 😢 😢

Based on past years trend, Nan Hua Phase 2A(2) most likely enter balloting this year, due to 40 seats reserved.

http://www.nanhuapri.moe.edu.sg/cos/o.x ... id=1084434

Before second day of Phase 2A(2) is up -
The staff in charge of registration will inform parents which distance range group need to ballot.
Is it 2A(2) within 2 km or more than 2 km, need to ballot ?
If they ballot within 1 to 2 km, means those exceed 2 km no chance, have to enrol in other schools.

But if more than 2 km ballot -
The luckier ones will still get in.

You don't need to de-register.
Wait until 2nd day of Phase 2A(2) around 4 pm.
By then, you more or less will be informed which distance group need to ballot.

On Day 2 around 4 pm :-
If (1 to 2 km) ballot means > 2 km no chance, then quickly rush over to your husband ex school, to register, before 4.30 pm close.
Your husband must be ready, sitting inside his ex school.

If > 2 km need to ballot -
You have to decide whether you want to try luck in balloting, or give it up & enrol in yr husband ex school.

Think Henry Park and Ai Tong may also be affected
