[Bedok] Primary Schools

Just to share … I am not staying in Bedok area, but my cousin’s daughter went to TK for P1 and he got her transferred out to another school recently. Said he was not happy with the school (didn’t ask why though, was a casual chit chat over CNY).
As for St Stephen’s, it is affiliated to SJI, if that helps in your decision. -

For TKPS, I thought it’s like a mini international school as historically, alot of foreigners got into the school via phase 3 when there are still vacancies.
So I am not sure with such environment if the child is able to pick up other soft skills through their dealing with other nationalities classmates.
Meanwhile for St Stephen, hubby was ex-st stephen and he enjoyed the school. He eventually progress to St pats. He related to me that during his era, got different clusters eg. the kuai kuai type, the beng type and the super potato type. Think along the likes of Glenn Ong from class 95. He was st stephen, st patricks as well. He wanted to send our son to St stephen and the girls to Katong convent (my sec school) but I was dead against it as I told him I wanted synergy by putting them in the same school. Anyway, my kids are in MBS (my primary school).
Heard from my GP who has sons in St Stephen that the teachers are more bochap type so the parents need to work harder. -
Hi, we are planning to move to bedok area. Most of the public schools I have rung offer Higher Mandarin from P5 to P6 only. I know Red Swastika do, but it is not my preferred choice.
My kid is in Primary 3. Does anyone know of any government schools which offer higher mandarin at primary school at that level?

Unfortunately, no, Higher Chinese is only available in SAP schools for P1s to P4s. The other school that you can try, though not in Bedok area, is Tao Nan.

Thanks all for the input on St Stephens..guess nothing I can do but to consider tht school. Im out of choice already coz we are away frm all schs nearby..like more than 2 km away and we are not eligible for balloting as well
