Hi Mishaz, you are right. But they have very limited CCAs. I just hope that the school will do more to assist those who don't fail but only pass with borderline results.

      CTong
I agree 100% with you. The school is only interested in grooming the higher achiever. My elder is among the OK group scoring above 88 but the other one is among the moderate students 60-70 range but I do not understand why the elder one is still being pushed to go for Supplementary classes while the other was not given even a remedial.. though I am not that Kiasu but I feel it is unfair to leave behind the potentials kids. Ive brought up this concerns with the teacher and was shocked with her reply that there are benchmark to follow when selecting individuals whether or not they are qualified to go for Supp or remedial. Apparently supplementary are for scorers of 80s n above to further outshine their ability and remedials are for those who completely fail. Borderlines do not fit in any of the extra classes provided.
As for CCAs, the only one they are interested to groom is their Chinese Orchestra which is their Niche CCA. They are willing to spend money on getting the best Conductor to lead the team. Seeing at how things worked, Ive withdrawn the elder one frm C.O. Teachers n Instructors kept calling me to let my child joins as they claimed he was selected thru an audition but I see no point when the interest of a child is not met. He is only working for the benefits of the school's overall achievements. There was once he was sick but they do not bother to notify me just to keep the 'show' going on. He informed the trainer tht he wasnt feeling well but they told him to bear with it and do it for the school. I cant tolerate the answer. If the well being of a child is not taken care of why shld my child perform for them??

I have a daughter in ELias Park Pri and she is in P2C this year.

Iam abit stressful due to the streaming in P3. 😢 I really hope she will be able to maintain her Courage class for next year. Hope to hear some advices or tips from those who had experienced this moment. :please:

      Hi Mummy K-Pop!

      Welcome to this space!
How is your daughter doin? Im sure she stays in 2C! School can be challenging with students having to stay back almost everyday for CCA n such..it can last till 6pm?

      Hi Seestar!

No you are alright,I get what you mean. Dont be sorry…

Btw parents, during the year end MPS last year, a teacher told us the Elite class for 2013 P3 is only Courage. Diligence and Honesty are of the same standard with one subject overpowering the other, mean to say that D can be strong in MA but not that in English and vice versa with H whereas K & L are students with others capabilities apart from academically inclined.
This was confirmed many times by the teacher thruout last year and also after seeing marks from our neighbours kids. One scored 79 for English and 88 for Math went to D while the other with score of 89 For English and 85 for Math went to H. So it makes no difference in segregating the kids.

As Seestar mentioned, those in C can also be dwngraded to other classes based on their performances. So kids could be rotating class year to year till P5.

Wow what happen to all the other parents in EPPS here?
This thread has been abandoned since Dec 2012?

Hope to see everyone back to chat!

You mean in P5,those frm H,L n R who has done well will be transferred to C or D in P6?

What I heard frm the principal starting frm yr 2013,they will review every year frm P3 onwards, for students ability. So pupils frm C/D can also drop standard and those in HLR cld excel to P4 C/D…
      Is this right?
I rembrd there used to be kindness and peace, so now no more?

      eehiang:
Thanks for reply. There could be other reason why the take-in rate is up? You see, the residential is increased especially for the next few years. Livia, Oasis@Elias etc.

Just wondaring how the parents get the school info. EPPS does not get many awards(or rather, very few) based on thier web site. Not much CCA to choose from too.

      You are rite! Limited CCA..
Nothing much info abt the sch.. The reason y taking in rate is good is because of the blooming residential nearby otherwise nothing much. Some other parents might disagree and believe it is a good sch coz they are great supporters of EPPS or even a PSG members..
I had no choice but to regstr DS there coz bck then the other nearby sch was taken up.. Lost the plc by only 1 seat:(
I find EPPS quite petty in certain ways.. No car allowed to drop off kids in the sch compound or outside the road even on rainy days.. It can be quite chaotic for us parents who already had to drive like 15 minutes journey to the sch and then to work. The designated drop off station is at the side of the school whc is quite a distance frm the sch back gate. Need to enter the residential carpark entrance and the jam ard tht area every morning is terrible! What is wrong dropping them off just at the front gate?? I just dont get it! It causes more congestion this way. Not a good system I feel.

      Hi WSPS mommies,

Im supposed to put my son in this school as we are just 1km
away but on the 3rd of phase 2c back in 2010, i called the school and they said there wasnt any space!
So with a heavy heart, i enrolled him to
Another school which is 2km away! Till now not really happy with the only choice we had…thought of switching him to WS nxt yr…
Any mommies can share input abt the school. I read a few post earlier but tht post was in 2009, wondering if the system is still the same? No streaming and tht they segregate child accordingly to other strength besides
Academically? Pls advise further on how teachers perform
      as well.
      Thank you so much.
