Have you and your hubby give it a second thought? How many kids do u already have?

ya, but as a pte patient, i'm sure the $$ is very high... we already have 3 kids (2boys and 1 girl). we think it's more than enough..

You can go to the GP to ask for a referral letter and get the op done at SGH Urology.

Thanks, Janet_Lee88. Ya, i think it may work.. at least GP don't have to wait too long..but if GP refer, it will still consider as public not pte patients, right?? :?

i think getting referral from GP will still be charged pte rates. The waiting time is not that long cos last week we went polyclinic to get refferal, at first they told us our appt will be somewhere in apr but they called last minute to say they have avail appt the next day so we went... so now instead of consultation in apr, my hubby will be going for his ops in apr 😉

I myself have got 2 kids and hubby thinks he is stress enough (cos i'm SAHM) and he decides for himself that he wants to go for this... i wonder if he will regret later???

Hi KoalaMummy, I am sure your hubby has given much thought about vasectomy before considering going for it. I think it is very noble of him to do so. Most local men would not even give a thought to it. It is always the women who have to contend with contraception issues. Male sterilization is much safer than female ligation.

The important thing is that he is willing to undergo the procedure at his expense. That shows how much he is willing to sacrifice for you!
Not that i want my hubby to go for it, but when i casually suggested it, he simply brushed it aside! 😛
So the onus on him now is self restraint!

is it really a sacrifice? like if something goes wrong it'll render it a DEAD weapon? :?

We decided that 2 is enough, because we cannot afford anymore kids.

At that time, we were also worried about this ‘permanent’ way of preventing pregnancy, such as should anything happen to kids (TOUCHWOOD), ‘factory’ is closed. But my aunt told me it’s God’s Will. I believed what she told me, even though I’m not a Christian.

My 2nd one (daughter) came unexpected but it’s might as well since my maternity instinct was kinda strong but not brave enough to try for 2nd one. After having this op, we don’t have to worry anymore about ‘accidents’. It’s a constant worry every month when menses come late because of stress or for other reasons.
