what is the class size like for O-lvl vs IP?

I did mention I have no qualms regarding fees and distance...but I am not looking at IP. I am thinking of the O level 4 years route. $340 a month for singaporean kid. :? Thought the expensive fees is for PRs and foreigners.

    • RE: Advice - Divorce or Not to Divorce

@winth It’s hard for anyone to tell another person to divorce. It’s wrong.
A marriage will lose its spark after some years but if the couple wants to keep the marriage going, then they will work on it. Understanding each other and finding out the root of any unhappiness.

Personally I wanted the split because I felt lonely in the marriage. When I wanted to discuss, it sounded like alarm bells. On my part, I started to realise what I want and felt shortchanged.
It’s so true that one gets to know the true personality of the spouse at the end of the relationship. It’s rare for couples to split amicably. If the decision is to break up, make it a clean cut and have no contact.
After the divorce, move on. It took me quite a while to do so.

    • RE: How do you maintain your relationship with your spouse?

@rinsider I certainly agree. We grow and change. It’s not like after getting married, we stay the same. We become mothers and take on different challenges as kids reach certain stages.
Most men take for granted that once they get married, that’s it and they stop understanding their wives.

    • RE: How do you maintain your relationship with your spouse?

@PlayfulFairy It can be difficult to keep the sparks alive in a marriage after some years together.
During courtship, everything is sweet. When I first got married, honestly I didn’t know what I was going to get myself into. After 2 kids, I became a domestic maid having to attend to everything.

Have you thought of asking someone to look after the girls so that you and hubby can go out for coffee or anything? Just the both of you.
Have a date night once a month.

    • RE: Stay-Home-Moms Rejoining Workforce

      @sharonkhoo
      I was a SAHM for 21 years.
I returned to the workforce after the kids got older and independent. It was a steep curve as I left the workforce in 1999. So much has changed. It’s really not easy to deal with the job scope and the micro managing boss.

    • RE: Do we really need preschools to operate until 730pm?

I am working in a preschool. The working hours are 9 hours (1 hour lunch).
We are tired after a long day and it would be lovely if parents can pick up their kids soon. Teachers have their families too. Frankly I do wish we don’t have to fulfill the mandatory 44 hours every week.

Preschools do impose a late fee to be fair to the closing shift teachers who would have to accompany the children until they are picked up.

    • RE: Advice - Divorce or Not to Divorce

      Hi everyone,
It’s been a long time since I have been away.
A lot has happened during this period. Finalized my divorce in 2023.
It wasn’t easy to move on initially. For me, I felt emotionally neglected in the marriage and it doesn’t make sense continuing although I had comments that it was a silly move since the kids are grown up. It’s precisely bcos the kids have grown up which allowed me to make this decision. I understand the pain they went through.

My kids are 22 and 26. Older one just started working after he finished his studies. Younger one is studying.

    • RE: Me Time!

Other than loved ones, they won’t know what to give.

It’s nice to buy ourselves a gift to feel good….definitely won’t go wrong since we know what we want.
I did just that last week by buying myself a watch.

We have gotten Dao Pok (dried beancurd skin) as a dish before. !!??!! I think these days, as long as food is delivered on time, just let it go….[/quote]
I always get braised tau pok or braised peanuts as a dish every week :slapshead:
Potato cooked in ketchup is really hard to accept.

Can you believe potato with ketchup can be a dish itself? I thought the increase in Tingkat would equate better quality food. But no, I’m so wrong. :slapshead:
