      Hi SimKhoo

      Thanks for the sharing.

How to train preschooler with ADHD to manage himself and develop better control?
Read this thread from the beginning! Or look up some learning disability websites or books. There are lots of self-help advice for parents available. My daughter is ASD, not ADHD, although she has attention issues too and we thought she was ADD initially. Basically, we just focused on training and teaching in small steps until some behaviours become habitual. As the child gets older, they can also learn how to spot when their attention is wandering and pull themselves back, but this may only happen around mid- to late-primary school. But my daughter is still the dreamy, not paying attention type a lot of the time. Her teachers all figure out that she is that kind early on in the year! Even when talking to her, she can drift off.

        Hi

Most of the info in the website are for older children as no early intervention for younger children at preschool level.

How to guide or teach younger children not to wander around or lie on the floor during lesson time?

Practise at home? You can do practice seat time for a few minutes at a time at home.

Do a child with ADHD need to see an occupation therapist or an Educational psychologist ?

What kind of test is used to determine if a child has ADHD or not ?

If you want a diagnosis, I think you should see an educational psychologist. When you describe the symptoms etc, they will recommend what sort of tests they think appropriate. I think therapists use an official diagnosis or their own observations to design therapies, but I'm not sure if they are able to give official diagnoses themselves.

                        Hi

Is your child on medication for ADHD ? Does it helps to improve the condition of his concentration in class?

Did you enrol your child in group classes or individual classes?

How do you teach your child to be able to follow instructions and pay attention during group classes?

My child was asked to withdraw from group enrichment classes because he keep walking around the class and lying on the floor.I feel sad because he cannot continue the lesson to learn even though the programme is good.
