Don’t throw away your son’s Primary school PE attire. Orientation camp requires 4 PE attire which can be RI PE attire and primary school PE attire.

DS2 joining the RI family too. Thank you to all the helpful parents here. It has been a trove of invaluable information. Will go get uniform early as advised. What about text books?

        :welcome: to RI, hexagon.. πŸ˜„

You will be given the Booklist on Registration Day. So, you don't need to buy any textbooks now.. πŸ˜“

Most of the textbooks are optional items, as the teachers hardly use them in class. They are mostly for reference only. Oh, except the HCL textbooks & workbooks..

Btw.. RI uses her own in-house History textbooks, so please don't buy any History textbooks from Popular bookstore 'in advance'..

The textbooks for Geography are for Upper Sec, while those for Chemistry, Physics & Biology are for O Levels. So, you don't need to buy many textbooks from Year-2 onwards, if you decide to buy them in Year-1..

iFireFly, this year’s Year 1 didn’t use RI’s in-house textbooks. They were given handouts during each lesson.

Thank you for the warm welcome ifirefly! Looks like it's quite common for IP schools using text books for reference only. DS1 who is in ACSI hardly used his textbooks. His year 1 textbooks are in mint condition.

Thank you for all the helpful tips πŸ˜„

              Thanks! Good tip.

Do they still have the scary night programmes for orientation camp?

                Yes. Still have. πŸ˜‰

But not so scary. DS said the horror movie during CCA camp night is scarier. πŸ˜†

I think it all depends on the committee that choose the movie. πŸ˜„

Edit: I just clarified with DS. There was no Scary Night but there was Crime Night. Got movie but not scary movie. It was a detective movie. Sorry for the inaccuracies.

But 'Scary Nite' was back in 2014 Yr-1 Orientation, according to ngl2010.. :nailbite:

Hexagon.. Your DS2 doesn't want to join his gor-gor at ACSI ? πŸ˜‰
