Do note that there are some optional items in the textbook lists, for example the Grammar Handbook and Small Readers (for Chinese) Previously they had character cards too, but whether or not they are used depends on the individual teachers. My older girl had to use the Character cards in P1 but P2 chinese teacher didn’t use it at all. Grammar handbook also not used by all teachers. So you can leave them out first and if the teachers request for them to bring to class then you can buy later. But your daughter will have to buy it from the bookshop herself.

For name labels it’s up to you I guess. You only need the Chinese name on chinese books I guess.

Thanks again, wanderlust :), really appreciate your advise 🙂

I will not take the optional items first, will get it when it's needed.

We will be going to the school next week 😄

            Hi Piggy77

My elder gal will be P3 next year. I was told Top 2 classes for P3 2015 are Kindness and Patience.

What I know is that top 5 girls or top several in current P2 classes are either going to Kindness or Patience next year.

For the rest, I am not sure how the distribution is like.

                Hi Lonejean,

thanks for the intel, my girl is going to P3 Patience whilst her friends are going to Kindness and she feeling sad about it. Understands from her teacher that kids are being distributed across classes base on EL & Math…surprisingly Mother Tongue is not a contributing factor.

Anyone knows the outcome of the tender for the student care service inside SMPS starting next year? Hope YMCA wins it and can continue there

What are the chances of putting my girl in the school that is far away from where I stay.

I really hope that my daughter will get into St Margaret Pri. Presently staying in ard the area but will move to Bukit Batok area in 2017.
