You should! I was riveted to it from page 1! Actually on second thought, don't. You'll become so addicted to the book that you would spend less time at Kiasuparents, and I wouldn't be able to talk to my good friend autumnbronze that often. :hugs: πŸ˜„

Its okie sweetie ... my reading is now confined to bedtime reading. So you def won't miss me ard here at all πŸ˜„ πŸ˜„

              Hi all,

Anyone knows of any good bookstore for Chinese books for primary school kids, books that are good and relatively cheap, I dont mind second-hand books. - I need to find out for parents who come to me with their Chinese Language woes. I can't find Chinese books that are equivalent to English books like Magic Treehouse, Chinese Cinderella kind of books.

If you are looking for a good 'lobang' for English books for primary school kids, I have one to introduce. I am not working in anyway with them..just that my students and I benefitted a lot from them, I have never found a supplier who does this vocab extracting thing. I got some books recently from this supplier and they have books that are not available in Singapore that they ship in from overseas, and what I really like is each book comes with a list of vocabulary phrases that has been extracted from the books- I use it to help my students with their writing. - what better than to borrow words and phrases from authors who are paid to write well. And I noticed that my students' writing has matured and is not so bland. In fact, my colleagues are also starting to get books from them as well. Anyone wants to know about the supplier, just drop me a message.

Hmm, I would also like to find out about MPH bookfairs, anyone been to them, are they any good? Anyone knows about library sales as well? πŸ™‚

              Thanks

              Mich

              Hi Mich,

              thanks .. xifu

How much were they sold for yesterday at Bras Basah..

hmmm, old Enid story books going at $1 each. newer look versions were about $2.50. Some look very pre-loved, others were pretty ok.
                      buds:
Now, when is this MPH expo usually, hquek? :rubhands:

Are these books available at MPH itself now, the hardcover ones?
I have seen those omnibuses about, but cannot recall leh, paiseh. Next MPH sale round the corner only. Please note that not all expo sales are good, I have been to some duds (even by mph) - the last one in Dec was exceptionally good.

Regarding expo sales, it may be worth to check out early on if there is credit card promos, or just bring along the whole arsenal.

Last MPH sale, UOB cardholders got additional 10% off. Not all the time it happens, but if it does, it’s icing on top of the cake.
