Purchasing N2 is my own wish bec I found that they have covered 我,的,妈妈,爸爸, etc which my triplets still can't recongised. I am not sure what else have they covered and I called them. They said they can let me take a look at the books this sat but I don't think I can remember all the 12 lessons. I hope to at least explose my sons on the N2 staff at home so that they wouldn't be blur blur.jedamum:
New policy maybe? or different branch...
My boy joined when he was in K1 mid year. No need to purchase anything. I wanted to purchase earlier readers but the admin people said its not necessary as the kid should be able to catch up and that they will monitor.
I thought the fees should include all the materials used in class...
Yes, the course fee includes the assignment book but we need to purchase the textbook separately. Is this different from your centre? I went to the tampines mart one.
1) 48 readers
2) 48 sets of worksheet (Worksheet can be used as reference as they have to do it in class.
3) 2 audio CD. The audio CD overed the chinese nursery rhymes that is covered in the worksheet.
She's willing to part for it at a price. If you're interested, do PM or leave down your email address and I'll pass it to her. -

I had the same concern when my boy joined during mid K1, he can't recognise simple words. But the readers had repetitive words. Besides, purchasing prior info may not be really useful as the school do have their own way of teaching the words to the kids to make them remember in a flash (ie no matter how i tried teaching the word eg by repetitive writing, my boy still can't remember the word, but for certain words, he mentioned how the teacher use pictures to relate to it). Instead of drilling on what is covered in N2, you can use that time to reinforce what is currently taught.

My boy's P1's berries no longer using readers. They have a booklet, but that too is included in the fees. So i guess it is different branch's practice. -

Just to note, N1 and N2 is different.

Hi, jedamum. Thanks for your advise! Then I will channel my energy to what they are currently being taught instead.
Btw, which centre are you in? Since yours includes readers, I wonder if the course fee the same? Mine is $391.10 for a term. Do you still want to keep your readers? If not, will be glad to borrow from you.jedamum:
Hi, jedamum. Again, thanks for pointing this out.

Btw, I will not be interested to purchase your colleague's material. Thanks for sourcing out. -

You are welcome. No worries! For K1, with home reinforcement, you kid should be able to pick up word recognition. The part I am struggling now is the sentence structure as my boy's thoughts are in english, so when he translate that to chinese, it becomes funny.

It seems like it doesn't really helps that I speak to him in Mandarin at home as I realised that my Mandarin is just as atrocious.
My boy is in Bukit Batok Branch. I think the course fee is around that range...can't really remember.
Er...I am still using the old readers to revise and getting him to read as he is reluctant to read any other chinese storybook. -

Hi mummies,
My kid is in Berries too. I saw that some of you mentioned they have readers? As in optional story books for purchase? She has been with them for 1/2 year but I dont recall the school mentioning any readers. -

the readers is a small orange or yellow booklet - not optional.
i dunno if it is the standard that P1 don't have any more readers or they phase it out starting this year as my P1 boy doesn't have any readers since start of this term. -
Hi jedamum,
oh, thanks… yah, i have those readers which basically covers what’s taught in that day’s lesson. good for parents to do revision
