Based on previous years' experience, we paid $50 for a term BUT at the end of the term, there was always some change returned.
I dont think the fee was expensive, possibly $2-$3 per trip.
You can find out from the General Office.
(PS: sorry, I dont hv the exact amt)

You need to submit a form to general office by 9 Jan which is yesterday. The form could be downloaded from portal or collect from the general office. Hope you didn’t miss the deadline.

Latest feedback: Today (12 Jan), teachers have reminded students to submit the form for the transport. So, I guess the deadline has been extended but I am not sure there will be any transport on 1st day of lesson.
I have written something about the way Chinese lesson is being conducted in RVHS, my girl's class. I feel that I should make a summary here because the previous post, somehow, not in the appropriate topic.

                  1) Mo xie on Tang Shi 唐诗, they have to memorise 3 to 5 诗 every week.

                  2) Chinese 散文,newspaper articles or chinese reader digest articles, about 2 reviews per week, about 500 to 600 words. Sometimes more, about 1000 words. Its more on the 读后感 and recently, they have to find the article link to the character of the author to write.

                  3) Different level has to read different famous books (名著). Eg, year 1 is 西游记 and so on.

                  4) Presentation of story books they have read, usually about 3 mins, in power point slides. Review and recommendation. They did this as their June holidays project.

                  5) Write Chinese journals (like a diary).

Thats all I can think of at the moment. Most welcome if any parents would like to share more, on Chinese or other subjects. Cheer ... 😄

Thanks Daiyst's sharing 5 years ago. The RV Chinese learning seems interesting and tough, hope my girl enjoy the learning journey in RV.

Anyone can share the information of EL learning style in RV?

Each year, students would be expected to read a book, regardless of whether you take Elit in year 3 or not. For my level, year 1 was Roll of Thunder, Hear my cry( I guess it changed ). Year 2 was To Kill a Mocking Bird. Year 3 was Romo and Juliet. For year 4s, we are currently reading the book named \" Brave New World \".

Usually, there would be reader response at the end of each compre for year 1 and 2. In year 3 and 4, I guess it's argumentative essays.
Thanks for CookieMonster123's sharing. I like the book read program. Hope school can recommend more good books for our kids.

                    Hi daisyt & CookieMonster123

Thx so much for sharing on RV’s languages programmes.

Just a little add on - The 2014 Y1 read "Sing To The Dawn" to quite a detailed extent.

However, 西游记 was briefly covered and only on 1-3 chapters.
Nevertheless, the good side was that students were required to study ahead as they were started on 2A CL text, few months into the program.
