Hi, I hv zero music background myself. Am looking for a piano teacher for my 9yo DD. Been recommended 2 teachers (both more than 15years teaching experience) and they quoted me S$80/lesson for 45mins for coming to my place in Bt Timah. Does it make sense to pay this fee for beginner level?
I think it's a bit too high for beginner.

I don't think it is unreasonable, but of course with the premium fee comes premium expectations. For that price, I would expect a teacher who is thoroughly very competent and completely familiar with teaching methodologies and strategies for young children. The teacher should have also a good track record of students entering for exams, festivals, and competitions. There should also be miscellaneous activities organised by the teacher such as performance classes, student concerts, etc.BeThankful:

The traits I describe above are more commonly found in established teachers who teach out of home studio or own music schools. Some of the better ones in the market are already charging $60-80 per beginner lesson and they do not travel. The costs may seem expensive, but look it another way, the child will learn faster and more efficient, and this means more savings in the long run. -
Does anyone have any recommendation of piano teachers for a 6 year old boy?
He previously did a 1 year music class with a sch and a few months of 1:1 teaching with a piano teacher at the teachers place. However the lessons were not regular and she was often engaged in activities, staycation, and eventually was on maternity.
The boy has always shown interest in piano and often asks for lessons. However, with such a long hiatus, it means a lot of refresher for him.
Can someone share any recommendation pls?? We stay at pasir Ris and if the teacher can do home lessons it will b great. If good teachers do not travel, we do not mind traveling too but must depend on distance.
Appreciate any recommendations pls. Thanks in advance! -

I am looking for experienced (at least 5-10 years), patient and well qualified piano teacher (min diploma) who is great with young children.
I have a 7 year old who has recently expressed his interest in learning piano but I am pretty clueless and not sure how to engage the 'right' teacher.
Will appreciate if you could share your experience and contacts with me.

Thank you so much for your help! Looking forward to your replies.
