      Heyya tamarind,

      You inspired me.

When i was first recommended this forum,
i came across your many contibutions in
      various threads, encouraging parents with
the how's and the do's. And thats when i
decided, ok. This will be my virgin forum!
Hehee.. all this time i have real people to
have conversations with so i never knew
the netiquette. Thanks to you and other
kind users, i now know. Chief too played
a part in this decision. I read all his posts
on threads interesting to me and i found
him, just in his observation, diplomatic and
enlightening... and as moderator i felt i cud
be comfortable with his knowledge and know
he can keep this forum friendly for all users.

I suppose i will try to be even extra mindful
with how i portray my experiences. I for one
however, do agree with you that though it was
kinda hurtful for a user to use words in sarcasm
      and a-know-all-attitude on quoting others'
quotes, i try to keep a positive mind over
      things and reflecting is calming...

It never crossed my mind that to post msgs,
personally attacking one's character is possible
as there are real people behind these posts we
read. I do feel terribly misunderstood (can't help
it, really... 😞 )but i want to move on. Never mind what
happened, what goes around comes around (2fold at times!)
and i too see it the way you do, that we shudn't do to others
what we don't want others to do to us.. Negative energies
like such is not beneficial for myself or other users.
I hope to be here to share and care if there are parents
who reali need to share their experiences and share their
knowledge. In short more friends.. doesn't matter like
minded or not. It'll be good to have different opinions,
as different people have different perspectives and we
may have been biased in our thinking prior to hearing
someone else's view on a similar train of thought.
There will always be 2 sides to a story..

I'm glad i got acquainted with you and do know that i'm
behind you (all the way!) with all stuff fun and creative
learn thru' play for all the children out there. πŸ˜„

I wud like to quote sashimi on his tongue in cheek
phrase : Sometimes, we are too educated for our
      own good. Ahak!

      *sashimi > hope you don't mind.. πŸ˜‰

buds, if the world is made of more people who think and act like yourself, it would be a much nicer place to live in. I myself have been highly inspired by your posts and look forward to every new one. It’s just that as our community grows and when people have less time to read to fully understand the context that underpins each post, they fall back to their own convictions to fill in the missing gaps and create their own intepretations on the posts which may have never been intended by the authors.

My goal is to be fair to all posters - I don’t delete or modify messages in the posts, and the only ones I have deleted are duplicate messages and the only text I have modified are titles of posts to at least get some semblance of organization in the Forums. This speaks volumes of the quality of the posts that we have gotten this far - everyone have been discussing and sharing their experiences in a most amicable fashion for the last one year, until in the last few days. Today marks the first time I had to close a thread, but even so, I have no reason to delete any post.

So like Shylyn mentioned in another thread, we have to learn to ignore and get over criticisms, especially those which we know are said without basis. No need to respond to them, either. If we spend our lives making sure we satisfy everyone, we’ll need several more lifetimes than what we are already blessed with.

          You inspired me.
          buds,
 I am sure there are many more mommies who are inspired by you !

I guess it is because of my profession, that I prefer to write \"step by step instructions\", and \"detailed teaching methods and teaching plan\" in my blogs and in forums. I find it much more useful and constructive compared to those \"Here's the link. You can read all about it here\" kind of information. Your step by step instructions have been very helpful to many parents !

We all come to the forum to \"de-stress\", not to add more stress, right ? We are all here so that we can have a good chat with each other, not to argue to death about differences in opinions !

Thks for finding time to upload resources for me. Don't worry I can wait, you just take your time.

              Hey buds

My boys is 4 & 2yo. ah yes, may I know what kind of checkmate you are mention? :?
              buds:
As long there is the initial introduction of the basic
mathematical concepts, at an early start, rest assured
the child would grasp the concepts in time for Pri 1 Maths!
              I was just wondering....
maybe it will be more apt to create a separate thread on Preschool Math or P1 Preparatory Math or continue similar discussions over at http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=428 or http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=117&start=75.

Nowadays suppose to know addition/subtraction before P1 leh.... πŸ˜‰

                  Heyya jedamum,

There is another one >Teaching Pre-school Maths thread started
by berriestan. Checkmate method should be okay in P1 Math.
But pre-prepz for P1 Math can go under the abovementioned
                  thread.

                  Chief, whaddya thoughts?
Direct me to what you decide to be a more appropriate
thread to contribute to. I’ll go with the flow.

                  Tks for the observation jedamum.
