In the end, I emailed the IT helpdesk and they gave me the ID (different from the instruction that was given i.e y16tudentFullName). Password remains your child BC in uppercase.

Hi Year 1 parents,
Has anyone of you tried to login into http://lss1.wiki.hci.edu.sg to get the LSS materials following the message by Mr Tan in EMB.
I tried to follow the login instructions (userid and password) but kept getting the error message \"We couldn't verify your username and password. Please double-check them and try again.\"
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!

So the iD has nothing to do with the kids, is it system generated one? -
CatMoon:
The requirements are <=4 per grp. 5 is an exception.
It is a group project and the categories will be given out (very very long list). Between 4-5 boys in each group and the projects are graded on powerpoint presentations and actual project. They may do survey and then \"sell\" the project ideas to their mentors/teachers and they will spend about 2 terms working on this.wanxuan75:
Sec 1 newbie question again.
Can I ask what is Independent Studies ? Read that they have to do a project.. is it a grp project or it's an individual project? Can anyone advise?
Please refer to http://hsprojectsday2016.wiki.hci.edu.sg/ for more details.
Secondary Ones will be receiving training every wednesday/friday which previous batches did not have (started last year), and will only be able to do Categories 3,4,5,6,7,9,10,11. -

yes, it appears to be -
Just read about the CIP that the students are required to do … however, the CIP site indicated is very far… can I check if there are alternative sites that the students can go to for the CIP requirements? Appreciate advice. thanks.
-
It’s ok even if it’s far as there is transport to/from school provided when there’s CIP.
Alternatively, you can do student-initiated CIP to get CIP points but really, what the school is trying to do, is to help your child get enough CIP points for a good CIP grade. -

Hi Lexis, thanks for the prompt reply. Can I check with you when you said transport is provided, does it mean 2-way school and CIP site? Or it's one way and the students have to figure out how to get out of that area themselves? It's ok even if it's far as there is transport to/from school provided when there's CIP.

Also, how often are the CIP? Noted that the first one will clash with a screening test that the school is conducting for science .. so not sure what will happen if he missed the \"scheduled\" one.. -
hi wanxuan75,
I can only speak for Aphelion… not sure if it is different in other consortiums.
There’ll be a bus that’ll pick the kids up from school and drop them at the CIP venue, then send them back to HCI after CIP. If you live near the CIP venue, you can go home direct provided you inform the teacher and parents consent.
I think it’s once a term? If you miss the scheduled one, usually the teacher will assign you to join another class for CIP on another day, so you still get points.
Hope that helps!
