if you guys have FaceBook, you might wanna 'LIKE' this page: http://www.facebook.com/11plusmathstutor/

Basically, it's a free online maths tutor service. You can ask him any maths questions and he will answer them for you. Or you can like the page just to get daily maths solutions to challenging maths questions. Apparently, he's a Singaporean Maths tutor based in the UK. Happened to chance upon this page while researching for free online maths resources. Hope you guys find it helpful.

Hi, my son is currently in P5 and has always been weak in Maths especially word problems. I engaged a private tutor for him last year and have seen improvement in his P4 SA2 results.

Recently, I realized that his tutor has problem solving questions which are more complicated. Why do I say that? Because those questions that my son asked, she wasn't able to solve or explain them on the spot. At times, she needs to bring the questions home before coming back to my son few lessons later :scared: . Sometimes she even needs to refer to the answer booklet to do explanation to my son.

From what I have found out from my son, this tutor doesn't really know any technique of solving word problems.

I'm thinking of finding a replacement after SA1. Anyone here has any recommendation for Maths private tutor, I'm staying in Woodlands.

        Thanks so much.

Hi parents. I heard good reviews from a handful of my friends. He teaches Math (pri-sec) really well. Students are able to understand the concept well. No memorizing of specific techniques or solution. He is able to explain and have his students understand them well. If u r interested pm me. Cheers!

P5 dipping is quite common. Don't worry, most will catch up in SA2. You can consider pslemath Programme. http://Www.pslemath.com.sg, they specialise in teaching the basics of problem sums . Their Programme is very structured and systematic. I feel it help my DS. You may try writing to them to enquire . Learning@pslemath.com.sg hope it helpful to you.
