Thank u so much for ur reply. Wonder however for higher levels with the emphasis on only problem sums. Will the other sections be neglected although it's a minor component

That was the same concern I had initially. My friend introduced me to Jason, who introduce himself as a programme manager. He explained to me that basics are important and must be taught. I have observed that for every new topic, they will dedicate 1 to 2 lessons to teach the basics before moving on to problem sums.

Hi parents. I heard good reviews from a handful of my friends. He teaches Math (pri-sec) really well. Students are able to understand the concept well. No memorizing of specific techniques or solution. He is able to explain and have his students understand them well. If u r interested pm me. Cheers!

Hi AmberT, my nephew just got back his maths paper and didn't really do well.. Just pass actually. He is P5 this year. He has issues with his problem sums. May I know is the tutor a private tutor? Thanks.

P5 dipping is quite common. Don't worry, most will catch up in SA2. You can consider pslemath Programme. http://Www.pslemath.com.sg, they specialise in teaching the basics of problem sums . Their Programme is very structured and systematic. I feel it help my DS. You may try writing to them to enquire . Learning@pslemath.com.sg hope it helpful to you.

Their p1 Programme is pretty good. They uses 2 Programmes for P1. JEIMath and their in house PSLEMath. The JEIMath is from Korea and is like MPM. PSLEMath is school syllabus based but mostly teaching problem sums.

I have a son, 17, studying in Ngee Ann polytechnic, Biz Ad. He seem to be very free and study very little compared to when he was in secondary school. Most of the time he is playing games, chatting on skype or watching youtube. His GPA for the first semester is 3.2. Is it a normal student life in poly?
