That's why I said there is \"no risk at all\" provided you are

        prudent with your selection. 🙂

Hi! Heard that the cohort result is good, the COP might increase too. May I know if my dd psle aggregate lower 2 marks with the top sch COP, do you think if i can take the risk to put this sch as first choice? The second choice is meet the sch COP. TIA

If your expectation is that the COP will be higher than previous year,
you are basically throwing one choice away since your daughter's T-score
didn't even meet previous year's COP, let alone this year's.

Then again, you have a total of 6 choices. So long as you exercise caution,
and choose one or two schools with COP well below her T-score, then there
          is no risk at all.

          Thank you :thankyou:

            hi,

My girl scored 229 for her PSLE, A* for English, A for Science, B for Maths & Chinese. We are staying at Hougang and with no car. May I have some suggestions from kind souls here, what are the secondary schools to be considered for her Sec 1 posting?

** She doesnt want to go to Hougang Sec & YCK Sec

In fact she wanted to go XinMin or Zhonghua, but she didnt do as well as expected, will it be risky to put these 2 school as part of her choice?

Appreciate your advise, thanks so much :thankyou:

How about Katong Convent (should have buses plying Still Road from Hougang to Marine Parade)?

St Joseph's Convent (but it was 231 in 2015)

            Holy Innocents High School
            Bowen Sec School

St Hilda's Sec School (check for buses from Hougang via Lor Halus to Tampines)

In addition to the good choices above, you can also consider St Anthony's Canossian Sec in Bedok (if you prefer girl's school), or Geylang Methodist Sec in Aljunied. They have relatively safe COP at 219 and 223 respectively.

More importantly, if your child is keen on the JC route, you'll need to plan ahead to see if you want to capitalize on the 2 point deduction (offered by some affiliated sec schools) come O Level.

As per the excellent comments put here for how to utilize the 6 options, just make sure that you have a \"sure to get in\" option put in at the end. 😄

But, since you mention you've no car, and I assume you'll want schools with ease of transport, so you might want to see what buses / MRT can easily reach your desired school? You can easily do so by checking online maps such as street directory which will show you what are the buses that reach the school. Given the heavy workload and CCA for secondary school, having a school easily accessible is a definite consideration for some. 😄

Thanks so much for all the suggestions, I have listed down and will get my girl then we discuss further. By the way, how is Presbyterian High School? coz we are thinking to dream a bit higher for the first 3 choices, then the 4th, 5th & 6th will go for those safer
