Pei Chun has never balloted in Phase 2A, be it 2A(1) or 2A(2).Hi, i'm just got down to researching for my dragon girl. need some clarification!
my hub is an old boy at pei chun. however, we are moving house this year and definitely will not be <2km of pei chun. Even if i register under grandparent's address, we are still not near the school. what do you think of the chances of getting in phase 2a(1)?
i read from previous thread that we can PV at two schools? I was actually planning to volunteer at the school nearest to our new house, poi ching, but thought the chances of getting into old boy's school might be higher? please advice! TIA! -
thanks floppy! good to know!

Hi…my boy was born in 2012. There are 3 schools that less than 1 km from my house: Rosyth, Xin Min and Hougang primary school. But the nearest is Rosyth. I want to try to do PV there. Is there anyone that I can pm that have experience to do PV few years back?
Thanks -

I have a friend that PV with Rosyth over 100 hours previously to get a slot. It may be too late now for PV at Rosyth for your dragon but please call to check since it is a GEP school and very popular.Hi....my boy was born in 2012. Hi, me too and I'm applying PV. You can dl from the website now -
Any advises if these schools need to ballot at phase 2B?
1. Rosyth Pri
2. Rivervale Pri
3. Horizon Pri
If there is balloting at phase 2B, do applicants living within 1km of the school get priority?
:thankyou: -

You are applying for the Dragon babies, you need to lower your expectation compared to previous years.Any advises if these schools need to ballot at phase 2B?

Yes, Priority on distance applies to all Phases when there is a oversubscribe.
Horizon and Rivervale are probably safe, but Rosyth might ballot within 1km
Rosyth :
2012 No ballot all in within 2km
2013 Ballot 1-2km
2014 Ballot within 1km
2015 Ballot outside 2km
2016 No ballot all in
Rivervale & Horizon
no ballot for Phase 2B in the last few years.

Hi everyone. I am a KSP newbie and my DD is a dragon baby due for P1 registration next year too. We are SC and staying in Bishan. Schools that are within 1km for us are Catholic High (but this is out since ours is a daughter), Teck Ghee and Townsville. Not sure how Teck Ghee and Townsville are, when compared to others like Kuo Chuan?
Schools that are 1-2km are Ai Tong, Kuo Chuan, Guang Yang, Mayflower, Da Qiao, etc. Marymount is actually more than 2km for us.
I am feeling very stressed because I really don’t know which schools we should target. We wanted to try Ai Tong but seems like chances are very slim. Cos even though we are Hokkien Huey Kuan members, we find it difficult to even clock in PV hours to be eligible for recommendation into Phase 2B since there are many people on the PV waitlist. And being in 1-2km range, to ballot in Phase 2C is also pretty risky?
If we target Kuo Chuan, we have to try to PV in order to get into Phase 2B for earlier balloting. But we are still within 1-2km after all.
If we compare Kuo Chuan and Marymount, does anyone have any idea which one is a better school in terms of academic and non-academic achievements?
May I also seek your advice on what should our strategy be based on past balloting results and also the dragon year phenomenon?
We are very tempted to move just to be nearer to a girl’s school like Raffles Girl’s or SCGS if it means better chance for us as SC at Phase 2C (without PV since they already closed their PV application) because I think there are more dragon boys than girls so a girl’s school might be a better bet?
Lookimg forward to your reply soon. Thank you in advance! -

Ai Tong - option is available only if you are eligible for P2B and even that, is no guarantee since you will most likely ballot or worst, ineligible because of distance priority. Balloting will occur <1km in P2C, hence, you don't have to consider if you can't get into P2B.
Kuo Chuan - likely to ballot in the 1-2km range for P2C so if you want to be stress free, you have to try to PV (no balloting in P2B).
Once you are into P2C, the following schools are unlikely to ballot: Marymount Convent, Townsville, Mayflower, Da Qiao, Guangyang. If your daughter is the only child, I'll pick Marymount Convent (with Townsville as back up) and be done with it. -
With the new PSLE scheme. I would try and go for schools with affiliation and Kuo Chuan had affiliated Sec. So suggest try yr luck as PV first.
