[Yishun] Primary Schools

Hi all, just to share that our PV application for Chongfu has been selected and there would be a briefing on 19 April. It seems that sucessful applicants were not notified yet, we had to call in and check with the admin. Does anyone know what kind of duties would the Chongfu PVs be doing?

I had to keep calling also, then was told out of 100 applicants they only picked 20.

Was so upset initially but i sort of got over it le, will just reg my girl to my alma mater Jiemin Primary

It might be a blessing in disguise as she might be able to perform better in Jiemin compared to Chongfu. Jiemin is not a bad school after all, and I dare to say that the standard is not that far from Chongfu. Besides, there's no guarantee that she'll be able to go to a good secondary school even if she's attending Chongfu as it doesn't have any affiliated secondary school.

Sorry to hear about it. We actually stay in the 1-2km range and are just trying our luck with the PV application, because otherwise there is no way we can get in at phase 2C since historically Chongfu requires balloting for < 1km in phase 2C. So while we are happy we got the PV, we are also aware that it is just a gamble between having a small chance in P2B vs no chance at all in P2C.

Hi all, I’m new here. Just wondering apart from CF & NL, which are the other decent pri schs in Yishun to consider?


I’m trying to make up a backup plan now. Anyone has views on Naval base Pri? Saw that they have open house this month and will be visiting to take a look.

Based on historical data at https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/yishun/, Huamin and North View seem to be the next popular choices. Btw, you can consider Jiemin too. My brother sends his kids there and so far they have no complaints.

Other than Chongfu, Xishan, Huamin & Northview are within 1km from my house, thinking is Northview better than Northland?

I’m considering Yishun Primary and Ahmad Ibrahim Primary as backup. Does anyone have any feedback for the 2 schools? Feeling a bit lost as I only know about Chong Fu in Yishun area. Thanks in advance for your advice.

If your boy is attending P1 next year, shouldn't he be born in 2011 instead of 2012? Either way, you are unlikely to receive a recommendation from SHHK as your period of membership is too short (3 years prior to application to be safe). Your only option would be balloting in Phase 2C. Good luck and do come up with a back up for Phase 2Cs.

Oh sorry, should be registrating for P1 next year… He is born in 2012.


Hmm… Means only options would be phase 2C… Sad…
If ballot fails, I can go for 2C phase to choose another school right…

Between northland and northview which will be better?
