She went to small claims tribunal. I heard it is no use going to AEAS, they protect the maid agencies.
It is true that employers of FDWs in Singapore are always in the losing end. If you read my blog, you will see more sad stories from other employers.
The only thing we can do is to learn to protect ourselves. -
Anyone here know how to go abt Small Claim Tribunal?

btw, my maids from Lxx Garden are very similar to those mentioned in your link.
Do not brush teeth in morning, do not use pad when having mens, use the same cloth for mopping floor and dinning table :!: , have bad breath due to tooth decay (prior to coming to sgp), not too metioned the blueback on my son etc etc,…i am too tired to remember all these. btw, she is from Philippines…slightly more ex than Indo. -

I have many bad maids before, and I have learnt that the only thing I can do is to send them away as soon as possible. I finally found my current maid who is a very good maid, and I am so happy that I did not tolerate all the nonsense of my ex-maids.
There are good maids out there, we just have to keep looking. -
JHJC, I have issues with LXX Garden in Bukit Timah too. The maid did not turn up & they refused to return my deposit back. At the point of transaction, the clause indicates that deposit will be return if the maid did not turn up. Luckily, I insisted in not paying them the full amount due as requested.

Hiaz… it is never easy to get a decent maid. This is my 4th maid and I thought I was overly strict and have too high expectation with my previous maids. Thus for this one, I take a diff. approach by being firm and more relax/accommodating on small little things and as the months goes.
She is with me for 7 mths already. I told her off last Fri for not following instruction and putting blame on my mischief dog. She wasn’t happy and when I gave her chance to speak up… she can answered me that "I’m not happy with her… I can do whatever I want… I asked her to explain what she means. she said "you not happy with me, you can send me back to the agency"!
On Sun we were rushing to go out so I packed my daughter’s bag instead of waiting for her to do so. When we are outside and it’s time to make milk, the water in the thermal flask was warm but not hot enough. When I asked her why, she answer me back saying "mdm, you didn’t change the water in the thermal flask?"
I think I have to be more firm and review the house rules with her again. Want to treat them better they take advantage… hiazz… -

there are more surprises from Lxx Garden agency… i have been sending them emails everyday, and went there to look for the maid… she is not there!!!One agent even said… i do not know where she is, maybe boarding house?
I cannot help but feel that something is fishy abt it. As a result of this non communication, they are still charging me $10 a day!
I have documented all these, copied MOM, AEAS and proceeding to SCT too.
Please… to all of the parents out there… DO NOT EVER GO TO THIS AGENCY… ITS ENDLESS OF SURPRISES. KEEPS YOU AWAKE! -
Have a friend who doesn’t speak English well and seek help from to deal with this U***** Home agency at katong. Since Apr 08, this agency has been providing her with lousy indo maids, either steal things or doesn’t have personal hygiene (so bad that the entire family has food poisoning). After 3 switches, she decided to change agency for ‘better’ luck. Thus, she requested the agency to pay back the insurance amt for the 3 maids which is abt $500. Till now, she haven’t got back a single cent despite the insurance company told her that the amt has been settled and returned to the agency, but the person-in-charge from agency has been telling her the amt is pending for approval from the insurance company.
Such a pain, think we’ve to seek help from CASE to deal with them. -

Tamarid is right, its better to go Small Claim Tribunal… go AEAS… tough.
They are overwork?.. they told me they had many cases on hand per day and needed give agency to response. In any case, they cannot take any action against agency as they are not legal entity???
I have for my case went to MOM, AEAS and SCT. The one that responded fastest with specific action plan is SCT.
