We attended the open house and was impressed with the school environment.

My daughter's first choice is CCHY...... 2nd choice = Yishun Town. I hope she can make it.

Thks for uploading pics here! School looks spacious and beautiful.

However when I mentioned CCHY to my friends, all commented CCH (Main) is good but not CCHY. Not sure why.

Hm cchm is better because first of all it’s sap (which means can use the hmt points), Chinese culture appreciation programme is offered, and the school only takes in chinese or students who take chinese as their mother tongue. Note: cchy isnt sap. The mep programme offered by cchm is comparable to many other schools. Cchm also has more ccas (like track, netball, table tennis etc). Lastly: cchm is pure express (no na and nt) so i guess the lessons conducted will at a faster pace. However cchy has a pretty high distinction rate too, 99% of cohort are eligible for jc and 100% for poly (im not too sure about cchm though) both are affliated to nyjc so i guess its a safety net to fall back on during o levels.

99% eligible for JC? Wow! Very good results they have.

Cchm is good but too far for us. Will consider cchy since nearer to home. Can’t wait for fri results to determine.

              Academic Achievements

In the 2016 GCE 'O' Level Examinations, we saw 90.2% of our students from Express stream eligible for a junior college education while 100% were eligible for the polytechnic courses. Our students also performed above the national averages in terms of percentage distinction.

              It's 90.2% not 99%.

Based on the previous COP of 237 for admission to CCHY.. The standard of the school should be able to achieve between 93-95% of students from Express stream eligible for junior college.

For 90.2%, I would think is abit too low

We are contemplating between Nan Chiau High and Chung Cheng (Yishun) (Chung Cheng Main was too far for us)...

So technically as an SAP school Nan Chiau does offer similar programmes as Chung Cheng Main (Heard Nan Chiau's sciences not bad). Both environment are impressive to me and my wife. Now considering distance (tho travelling time almost the same fm Woodlands), culture and whether All express cohort or a smaller Express cohort.

Anyone having same contemplation as us? 😓

How is Chung Cheng (Yishun)'s discipline like? Is it adequately strict?

Sometimes see boys behaving rudely outside so abit worried for my girl. But if in the school the discipline strict then not an issue?

Is in Sengkang, 2 bus stops from Sengkang MRT by 161/156/159. (Check the maps on ur fone for directions)

The programmes and subjects can see the wiki, looks quite comprehensive (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nan_Chiau_High_School). Think dat will give a clearer idea.
