Hi..anyone got a breakdown of Haig Girls Primary? I heard they have a history of having high PR registrants. Thanks.

I went to the school this morning and they were not giving the breakdown. However, I pushed a little and they said they \"may\" have balloting for PRs 1-2km but couldn't be sure (?!). I rang back at midday and it was a similar message, with slightly more registrations. But at 4pm when I rang, the lady on the phone said it was looking like balloting for SC >2kms. The message seemed to change depending on who you spoke to. It all seemed very imprecise and vague, which was frustrating. I'll be interested to see the actual breakdown when it's released. (We are PRs under 2km and decided not to risk our 2C choice and went for a safer choice instead.)

I hope you went for Opera Estate Primary as planned? If so, congrats! I think your kids will enjoy themselves there. It seems quite a holistic school.
Yes I did! And we got a spot! We sat for two hours this afternoon at the school to watch the registration unfold and i'm even more convinced it's the right school for us. Such happy children everywhere. Thanks for all your help in the lead-up Zac's Mum. School registration is certainly an experience!! (and one I'm glad I don't have to repeat!)

        Wah !

Loophole for the elite - good to know.

Yes. SC can't send kids to Int'l Sch suka suka. I used to work with this company boss know how to create perceived incentive for top executives - post them officially into subsi companies (I've no idea if they're just shell companies, but they get 're-posted' back within 2 mths (done during school holidays) & applied for returning kids to Int'l Schs in Spore. These few executives super-overbearing & boasted abt their privileges.
Queenstown pri is a big surprise! Last few years still have places for 2CS. But this yr, oversubscribed by more then +30. I also heard good word of mouth abt that school. It has redeemed itself. We need more success stories like Queenstown pri. Those schs that pple shunned but now gained recognition, so that all schs will be more \"balance\" in numbers.

Did you realize how many flats they just built all around this school?

But New Town Pri is just a bus stop away from Queenstown pri. Why the contrast n not the numbers not distributed evenly? No idea leh.. *shrugged shoulders*
Most of flat near new town being torn down for en bloc. Many ppl shifting out. Queenstown many new families pay over $500k for flat, it’s next to mrt and they don’t drive, aiming for the school downstairs walking distance. Even the kindergarten over subscribed.

Hi, can I just confirm that once a child is accepted in the school and the parents informed via sms, parents need not do anything or need not confirm they are accepting the place and just wait for the school to send the letter? Cos i find it odd that there are people pulling out leading to more places added.

              Thanks.

Called at 5ish and a lady confirmed that SC>2km will need to ballot. No breakdown given. If you are affected, you can try to call tomorrow morning to check if they would reveal the breakdown. They were pretty pleasant when I spoke to them today.
