the schools change every few years due to the electoral boundaries re-drawn.

Ask your CM, he/she confirm have the list of sch in your SMC/GRC.

          Hi

I am new to this forum. I will like to seek some advice from all of your expertise.

My gal is born in 2014. She will be in P1 in Year 2021. I will like to ask if it is too late for us to join grassroot as NC? The 2 years of serving as community leader is counted from the day I work as NC until the Primary registration (Jun 30?) or the day my gal enroll to Primary School?

          :thankyou:

Your 2014 girl will be registering for Primary one in July 2020.

Assuming today as the start day of your NC commitment, there is no way one can have a 2-years uninterrupted service from now to May 2020 (May being the month the portal is up for the application of the 2B letter)

            Right?

              Hi Skii,

Thanks for your reply. I was confused about the 2 years timeline previously as I wasn't sure it should be ended on Dec or May.

              You have cleared my doubt.

              Thanks šŸ™‚

Yes, not a given. However, at times there are transferred case from other place n dropped into your area. Some felt they are entitled the EM given their past service, especially those going for phrase 2B. CM is always in a difficult position to decide are there are more deserving people out there. CCC also does not want CM to hold observer for more than 3 months as there tend to be arguments later.

                    troychua79:
It is not a given that a RC must convert observers to EM within certain timeframe, sometimes need to have vacancies in the Exco or the Exco want to gauge the observer's commitment level before making to decision to convert.

I suggest that since you are EM in CSC and CDWF, why not take initiative to organise events for the RC which utilise your current contacts. It will help your cause to justify conversion to EM when the opportunity arises.

Maybe also can check with the chairman if there are programs you can help to drive for the RC?

The more active you are, the more people take notice of you. That's my take.

Since it all about volunteer work,

Get your network expanded, Know more people - then Ask if you can join the RC subsequently.

Imagine you are the chairman, would you be more comfortable of a existing active volunteer in another committee joining you or a total stranger?

[quote=\"kwaychapy\"]hi, I have been confirmed as an executive member in Commty Sports Committee and Commty Welfare & Development Committee.

Based on the sharings found in this thread, these 2 involvement does not qualify me as a active community leader for Phase 2B? Can anyone help to confirm this?

                    Thank you in advance.

                      Hi, looking for help here.

I stay in Novena and SJI Junior and ACS Junior are within 1km. Based on MOE Primary Schools by Planning Area, ACS Junior is under Central, while SJI Junior is under Novena. Does it mean if i do NC volunteer under the area where I live, I can only choose SJI Junior under Phase 2B?
                      Thanks.

seems like there are conflicting instructions on the actual process of phase 2b.

so the actual schools available for active community leaders is base on your actual residential address (GRC or SMC) of where you are staying, regardless of where you are a active leader, or is it base on the location of the GRC/SMC you are helping out in?

My understanding is that it is base on the GRC or SMC you are staying in and where you are helping out does not matter, but repeated posts stating otherwise is making me worried.
