Hi longshoredrift, all Marists must wear a singlet under their shirt at all times? I read the attire rules from the school page and it seems liKe it is part of the attire. Wonโ€™t it be too warm for our hot weather?

Really appreciate and thanks for sharing winniel_tlh!

Btw, is higher Chinese compulsory? or if students can have the option opt out of taking it?
Its not compulsory, but if you cant cope, you can opt out, at the end of each year.

My son, at the end of Sec 1, was asked to drop (as were several of his friends) but they didnt... Sec 2, and 3 as well.

Now, he's entering Sec 4, and still coping (passing)... ๐Ÿ˜›

            Hi Winnie,

My boy will be going MSHS next yr. May I know the dismissal time? Is it late dismissal on either Mondays or Tuesdays (dependent on classes), and CCAs on Wed and Fri? Thanks! ๐Ÿ™‚

Acdg to him this year Sec 1 = 3pm
            late day: Thursday = 4:30pm

Thanks winniel once again and thumbs up for the good determination!

On dismissal time, I did see the MS Sec 1 time table for 2018 awhile ago. What struck me was I notice 3 out of 5 school days end late (430pm to 530pm). In part was due to additional lessons (e.g. calligraphy etc) and CCA.

Still deciding if I should sent ds to MS or Edgefield which is nearby.

Hmmmm... I feel both Sch are diff category lei
If u can give your ds a better Sch , why not ? The Sch has only express stream n affiliated to CJC - Plus point
All Sch are gd Sch , but some Sch are still better ๐Ÿ˜œ
I understand fr my church fren - the lessons are longer as they are SAP Sch , use more time in teaching n learning- also late dismissal means the boys cannot hang around more in malls ( compare to normal neighborhood Sch students )

Hi MyPillow, thanks for sharing and you are spot on on longer time for classes. Coincidentally, i was counting the number of hours spent per subject btw the 2 schools. Indeed MS spends more time on some subjects.

Im incline towards choosing MS but i do not want to force this across to ds too. Headache.. ๐Ÿ˜“

I m also looking at MSHS for my child but I have friends who discourage me sending my child to boys school. But I like the schoolโ€™s subject combination vs XinMin n Zhonghua.

Am in a dilemma school of choosing school for my boy .

MSHS is a good and reputable boys school. If your child himself is not scared of mixing with boys, I donโ€™t see why your friend is discouraging you from applying.
