Why Straits Times want to have this article before the new year begin?

Because it generates reads? There will always be those who couldn't benefit from the system and I am happy that the 26 year old is able to find himself. I have encountered some GEP 'late bloomers' like him and I find they have the same amount of bitterness in the system. It is sad because these students can clearly do better in another environment.

In all fairness, once someone loses the family support aka problems at home, it becomes very challenging to cope with the demands in IP which requires a lot of discipline and initiative to manage one's time properly and be responsible for one's learning.

This could happen in any IP school. But like what you mentioned, top schools' news always generates more interest among our education-centric populace so they get highlighted more often than not.

Anyone knows how to apply for second car decal? I understand that the first is free although we need to pay $10 for the second one. Do I fill in the same online form but put the second car details? Or does DS need to physically go to SAC to buy another one? TIA.

Are the kids supposed to wear the black polo tee and PE shorts tomorrow for y1?

I don't know about tomorrow, but your combination is not correct. Black polo tee + white uniform shorts

Why Straits Times want to have this article before the new year begin?
DS is in Year 6 this year. On the day the article was published, his friend put it in Instagram. Some friends commented. Most of the comments are \"The results are not uncommon in RI. It was only Year 5 results. Still have time to catch up. Why gave up?\" DS thinks that maybe because in Year 1-4 the boy had As (I guess it is about GPA 3.6?) for all his subjects so he was surprised when he got C, D and E for his overall Year 5 results.

In my opinion, I think the results can be improved. There is still time. The boy looks like can afford tuition since he was able to go to Australia to continue his studies. However, maybe it is hard to find tutor/tuition centre for Knowledge & Inquiry because even RI only has very few students taking that subject (maybe 1 class only? And there are about 50 classes in each cohort in RJC). The boy also took H2 Literature. I am not sure whether it is easy to find tuition on H2 Literature. Maybe the boy thought it is hard to improve in these 2 subjects? I am not sure. I can only guess.

Anyway, RI is a very compassionate school. Don't worry so much especially in Year 1-4. Those are the most enjoyable years 😄
