Hi! Any Sec 4 parents or council parents can help me here…
This is regarding the uniform long pants…it looks so extremely baggy. Anyone here tried to alter the pants by tapering it? Where can we send to get this done? -

Could it be due to the length? It looked baggy on DS when he first tried it on. I hemmed up the length and it looked better. Still slightly baggy but acceptable.

If you want to tailor made Hwa Chong pants, it is at beauty world if I am not wrong. The phone number is 64665697
Please call them to check the operating hour and address. I remembered they open from 12pm-8pm. -
Thank you!! Possible to tailor make at Finest Fashion? I hemmed up the pants and my son still looks like a clown! kekeke

I did send my boy's pants for tapering+shortening. There are a lot of alternation services around. One convenient one is a shop in Bukit Timah shopping centre area. I found a home-based service as it's more affordable since I've a few to do.

Thanks xjysg! One silly question - even after you had tapered the pants, they are still pleated right? as in, we can't change them to flat front pants right?

ok I got to bring the pants to the alteration tailor. Son looks like he's swimming in some women's wide leg pants at the moment lol! -
hi all,
Hope can help me as I am quite confused and blurred.
May I ask is the history subject will be tested at the end of the year or in the mid year?
When come to sec 2, is the content of sec 1 for the all subjects ( science, history and Geo) will be retested again?
Thanks first.
Thanks. -

For Sec 1, history will be taught in first half of the year and tested in mid year. Second half of the year will be for Geog. The subject order will be reversed in Sec 2. The Sec 1 content will not be retested specifically in Sec 2 but will be the foundation for the Sec 2 curriculum. Hope this helps.

Thank you very much. They already started using sec2 textbook. just wonder what will be teach in sec 2.😅

For history, yes. Book 1 & 2 on Singapore will be pretty much covered in Sec 1. Looking at DS’s text, it seems that Sec 2 will cover European and American history.
It’s good that they are exposed to world history in lower Sec, be it to trigger their interest for advanced learning in upper Sec, or just general knowledge if they choose not to advance history in upper Sec.
