      My dd2 had a slight problem with her spine and we brought her swimming weekly to strengthen her back. Just want to add that the weekly swimming was not part of any swimming lessons. The aim was to strengthen her back and not to be graded for any survival swim tests.

      Another thing I did was to bring her to the playground and get her to hang upside down from some elevated bar. (can use those pull up bars for this purpose). The inverted pose helps to reduce the pressure on the spine and back and at the same time, helps to lengthen the spine as well.
      Thanks schweppes. Yes, my son has swimming lesson once a week since last year. I have check with Guardian pharmacy for the i-zest which was recommended by a parent in this forum. It costs about $168 for small size, I will get it for my boy and see how is the improvement. :thankyou: once again for your advice.

          For this sort of thing, it's best to seek professional advice first. For someone that young, you should find out exactly what is happening - is it just poor posture, or something more serious? Start with the polyclinic, and see what they suggest.

            there is health check by HPB nurses in sch .
            Sometimes the kids can stand straight , they are just lazy or too tall , lean etc
            i was worried before too, but so far sch nurses cleared checks or now i know it is due to their laziness n slouch - drooping posture

              My advice for chiropracters is that they are not all are the same. Some just want to push for you to sign a package and keep going back for more treatments… A good chiro will also leave you with proper advice and exercises to strengthen you. Otherwise it is paying big bucks for short term benefits.

                I had a lower back pain and I went to get quite a few opinions... Finally one revealed that no adjustment was required but I simply needed to work on my hip, glute and hamstring area. After one consultation I kept doing the exercises and the pain stopped. I felt bad because actually by helping me this doc would earn less money... Not saying it will be the same for you but honest opinion makes a world of difference...
