once minus away 15 marks, means reach 85, a bit difficult to achieve A * anymore, because too far away

if raw score say, 88 or 89, still close to 91 although below 91, still possible to grasp A *, after adjustment (moderation) for P6 cohort
what bout 87?

2019 is really turning out to be a tough year.Lets just hope that Science and Mother Tongue are easier than English and Math...
I doubt so... The papers have been relatively easy for a few years now, so I would be inclined to think all the papers for this year are hard...? Hope not though... :?:

Hi parents, does anyone knows if the child is taking foundation Chinese at PSLE and manage to get into express steam in secondary, will the child be taking standard Chinese or foundation Chinese in secondary? Do all secondary School have foundation Chinese? Also can we still apply for Chinese exemption again in Secondary school even though application was rejected in primary school? Many Thanks
The student will likely be taking MTL 'B' Syllabus. Not all schools offer it.

From MOE:
MTL ‘B’ syllabus may be offered from Secondary 1. Students with Grade C and below in MTL at PSLE will be allowed to take MTL ‘B’.
Those with learning disabilities, e.g. dyslexia, ADHD, autism and hearing impairment, will also be considered. Students with severe disabilities will be exempted totally from the MTL requirement.
Secondary schools have the flexibility to allow other students to offer MTL ‘B’, taking into consideration the student’s performance, language ability and the standard that he can achieve with reasonable effort.
Students who re-enter our education system (e.g. students who return from overseas) and are unable to cope with the MTL syllabus will be considered for the MTL ‘B’ syllabus.

It is 1/3 of ALL admitted to independent schools. So say last yr's ESIS cut-off was 260, so all those who scored 260 and above will get it, regardless of whether they are top 1/3 of RI.

Yes. Only for independent schools. Last year above 260 can get ESIS.

I think my friend's son had 266 last year. Don't think he's eligible for ESIS.

The only explanation is your friend's son not Singaporean or did not apply to Independent School.

Please note not all IP schools are Independent Schools.
