            Hi,

May I know if the child failed or just got 50% for HMT in Sec 2, is it possible to continue with HMT or the child will have to drop HMT in Sec 3?

If child got HMT 50% in Sec 2 year end, child can still do HMT in Sec 3. But teachers will strongly encourage child to drop. Because got less students to teach and can protect school’s results. A bit selfish of the teachers. Sad to say, but it’s true.

from what I know, the school wont force you to drop. They might encourage you to drop since they think you might not be able to do well in O level. Is still your decision at the end of the day.
AHS produce good O level result every year. Put your trust in the school and if really in doubt, should not hesitate to speak to the teacher.

There was a change of principle 2 years ago, thus policy may have changed already

can i ask for feedback about AHS? I’m an alumni, but i had bad experience, so needed some up-to-date information since things have changed so much in the school:

                    1) does the school still mandate the students to have prayers and wednesday preaching sessions?
                    2) Is bible studies now still part of the curriculum?
                    3) Any one have the school’s past O level performance?
                    4) Are the teachers those caring kind? or they just care about the good students?

My ds is currently a student in this school. We are of a different religion but so far we hv no issue in this area. This is a good school where most teachers care for their students and I like the fact that they are very serious in their teaching and have good teaching materials. The school is also strict in discipline.

                        1) yes there are prayers every morning and expression sessions

                        2) for sec 1-2 there are cce lessons and some do include/relate to stories from bibles
                        4) most teachers aren’t that bad but there are some who focus only on results
