for 2020 Sec 1 students (born 2007)

keen to continue pursue Higher Chinese (HCL), especially if u have sat for HCL @PSLE on 2 October 2019, SST also offer HCL lessons. And esp. if you have the intention (desire) to join the Junior College path in Year 2024 , after sitting for your O-level 4 years later, in Year 2023.

Reason ?
Once you manage to clear Higher Chinese by end of Y2023 ( O level), when go up into JC (1) in Y2024, no need to take H1 Chinese lesson in the JC anymore. Can just focus upon your core GCE \"A\" level H2 subjects (Y2024 and Y2025). Otherwise, end up burdened with tight time management, with having to handle (juggle with / tackle) H1 Chinese, over and above your core H2 subjects

For this
at Sec 3, students need to clear O-level CL (Standard Chinese) paper, and the following year
at Sec 4, need to clear O-level HCL (Higher Chinese) paper
Then, when go up into JC (1), no need to take Chinese anymore.

==================

On the other hand, those targeting alternative Polytechnic route : no need to take HCL.
To enter Polytechnic, just clear (pass) Standard Chinese.
Eg. those targeting for

- Diploma in Biomedical Science
- Diploma in Biotechnology
- Diploma in Chemical Engineering
- Diploma in Veterinary Science
- Diploma in Applied Chemistry
- Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering
- etc.

===================

for those keen to pursue 3rd foreign language (Spanish / Japanese / French / German),
you will have to travel to either MOELC (Bishan) or MOELC (Newton), depending on which foreign language u are taking.

Eg
Spanish, is offered only at MOELC (Newton), but not at Bishan branch

whether one qualify to take 3rd foreign language or not from Sec 1 onwards, on 21 Nov PSLE results collection day, it will be written inside (indicated) your PSLE results slip. If your Tscore is around 252 and above, usually can qualify

This year, 2019 GCE O level (born 2003), if one is observant enough, found on the notice board hung inside SST school premises, listing down names of various students taking individual O level subjects, one can see the names of SST Sec 4 students who have persevered hard.
They still take GCE O level (in 3rd foreign language : Spanish / Japanese / French / German), over and above their heavy 8 subjects combination, at O level. Even though some of their fellow classmates (school-mates) had already dropped out, given up 3rd language by end of Sec 1 or Sec 2, these group of hardworking students still persist on. Determination and Perseverance and Never Give Up

他们 ... 坚 持 到 底, 永 不 放 弃 :salute:

https://www.moelc.moe.edu.sg/courses/

If take 3rd foreign language,
this will be your 9th subject enrolled, at GCE O-level major examination

SST does [u ] Not provide any school bus service, for her own SST students. As such, you will need to \"Dong bang\" other school bus service instead, provided by other nearby Secondary schools.

9060-7250
(telephone number)

You can give a call, to above school bus operator, from another Sec school nearby.
This operator drop off SST students, just outside SST school gate along the small side road, in the morning.

Registration date, for 2020 Secondary 1 cohort enrolment (SST) intake, born 2007, is :

23 December, 2019

On this date, after confirming how many of their own existing students are taking school bus next year 2020, then this operator will know exactly how many remaining school bus seats are left, to take in & allocate seats to SST students.
Thus, please contact above telephone number, asap.

This operator have different type of capacity school bus, depending on the demand of students staying in which part of Singapore. They fetch Secondary (1 to 4) OP and IP (Year 1 to Year 6) students, living in various part of Singapore

- some are 30 seaters, school bus

- some are 20 seaters type of school bus

- some are smaller, 11 seaters (mini van)

OP : O-level program

IP : Integrated program
( no need to take O level exam)

Hi guys,

SST has not given out any info on SIE on their website yet.

It’s already the 5th of November and all they have written on the SIE 2019 page of their site is “More information about the Supplementary Intake Excersise will be released soon” and this was posted way back in September.

Does this mean there won’t be sie for SST this year?
Hello good morning 2019 P6 pupil Nethan,

SST has just refreshed her website (SIE)

Interested applicants can submit SIE Application form, from

11 Nov (10 am) to

23 Nov (10 am)

got to wait until PSLE results are released (tentative 21 Nov 2019), subjected to vacancies

https://www.sst.edu.sg/supplementary-intake-exercise-sie-2019/

All the very, very best to you, Nethan ! 🙂

Hi Berlykiasu,

Perhaps, can contact Chinese HOD (SST), obtain the statistics officially from the Head-of-department, if your child is an enrolled student in SST

Hi guys, I am planning to participate in SSST SIE but on their website, it says that u can submit achievements if any. I don’t really have any achievements but is there a chance they might shortlist me based on my academic results, PSLE results and interests for the interview?
