It helps with Lorong Chuan MRT just beside it.

Location does play a part. A classmate of my DD, who scored L1R5 of 6 points raw, chose NYJC as it is near his home.

Unfortunately no longer true. I understand that most st nick and cat high students this year are choosing EJC instead of NYJC ( if they cannot get into RI/RGS)

Perhaps, and that is why EJC COP has gone down to 7/8 (Science/Arts) ?

But NYJC still holds very well at 6/7, unchanged from previous year.

Applaud 👏Ny for being flexi in 4H2 take up, not just based soley on yr R5 result. Thats align with MOE- cant judge a person based on 1 National exam seating.

Ny gives 4H2 opportunity to all its students and has enough resources to cater to this, not worried overall results affected or not.

Ny believes if students want it, Ny will do it best to give you.
1 of the Right stuff from Nyjc.

Err... Isn't this what all JCs do? :scratchhead:

                    hi lag

                    can clarify ?

currently, if one were to go to several JCs website to check, quite a number of JCs indicated that

                    for example

to do H2 Physics, one need to score at least a B3 at O-level, or better, an A1 or A2

                    So, may I clarify ?
inside Nanyang JC, if a JAE student scored B4 or C5 or C6 for Physics (O-level), NYJC is still flexible enough, to let the student proceed take up H2 Physics, instead of H1 Physics, therefore encouraging many pupils to take up 4 H2 instead of 3 H1 + 1 H2 ?

Kindly clarify, because if this is the case, which is very good, because don't just rely upon only one high-stake National O-level exam results alone, due to the flexibility of allowing 4 H2 subject combination.
Now i can understand fully why NYJC is so popular with JAE students, why NYJC COP for Science is 6 points.
This could be the true reason behind, what lured (attracted) so many JAE students to choose NYJC, as opposed to other Top JCs who are very, very inflexible, very firm, die-die insisted firmly that \"No, you must have a B3 score or better. Otherwise Sorry, Not allowed to take any H2 Pure Science subject \"

                    Thank you, for clarification

From what i know, JCs have criteria that students with R5 of certain single point can only qualify for 4H2.
Eg my friend daughter appeal from MJC( before merger) to TJC successgully but VP only allowed her to take 3H2. So she rejected offer.

Ny is flexi in this aspect- students' interest is priority to Ny.

Ny allows such scenario, as its confident in its chers who can give enough attention to these students who otherwise will be denied to do 4H2 , say in another top JC.

To allow them to do 4H2 is 1 thing, to be able to deliver that quality teaching- so far Ny chers can mgt it.
