      Very.
He may risk starting the next world war, or creating the next super virus, or causing Singapore to sink.

Or he may have just expended one of his six choices and the system will just move on to his other five.[/quote]

Jokes aside, it is actually good strategy to try a school with COP 1 or 2 points above your t score. It fluctuates every year you never know if it’s your turn to hit jackpot.

Hi, my dd has the same 260 with HMT distinction, she also would like to choose RGS, BUT the COP 2020 is 261, she is concerned if she would waste her first choice. Other choice of school are NYGH, St Nicholas Girls. Any advise for her?

(we stay near Beauty World MRT)

          RGS

Cons: distance from our home (estimated 45-60 mins by public transport)
          ...

If you stay near Beauty World MRT station I doubt you need more than 30mins to get from your door step to RGS. It’s within walking distance from Braddell MRT station (and in 5 years time when she goes to JC, RI is right next to Marymount MRT station.

Google map disagrees with you unfortunately....

            Hi All,
My DD got 266. She is deciding between RGS n CEDAR. Any pros/cons, your suggestions/experiences pls.
            Thanks.

I am interested in the responses to your question. I am also deciding between these 2 schools. My dd1 was from Cedar. She enjoyed her time in Cedar very much. Dd1 was blessed with very good teachers. Cedar and VJ has a nice, comfortable ‘kampong’ feel (my opinion only). Dd2 has a very different personality and interests and I hope to find a good fit for her. Certainly not ruling out Cedar. I watched RGS online open house video. Very impressive campus.

:offtopic: Cedar’s COP may be 25x. But in my dd1’s cohort, there were no lack of girls scoring 26x and 27x.

Actually, just ask your dd1 since she is in Cedar. And she knows her younger sister. Ask her if she thinks Cedar suits her younger sis. Observe your dd2 response to her sis answers too - cos u also need to consider if the siblings prefer to study in the same sch/same alumni or prefer their own space to grow. 🙂

She got better use of that first choice? RI, HCI, ACS?

On a VERY serious note, she got 6 schools to use up those 6 choices meh? By the time she / the system gets to SNGS, it’s already game over.

+1 or 2 is frankly, too conservative. Go with +5 (or more). At worst, it’s just a wasted choice.
