Is it just me or are the psle scores very low this year? A friend's daughter who is good at her studies but not the exceptional type, I was expecting her to get 240+ but she got 231. Another friend's son I expected a 260+ but he got 254. I wonder what happened to the kids.

No one knows for sure. Depending on what posts you read, there are also some really good scores out there. Does this make the papers \"easy\" or did these students just do very well?

I suspect that with some math/science topics being removed that the standard deviation on these papers may be down. This, if you maxed out these two subjects it could really drive some high aggregate scores. However, this may also mean that there's going to be more people stacked up around the traditional COP levels that are of high interest.

But again, it is just a guess by some random person on the internet. I am yet to reach out to all 40,000 students...

with ZERO info these few yrs, it is difficult to know how high is high, what is the avg range etc
we only know when the posting results our n kind souls compile the list
BUT from what we recall psle 2018, 2019 batches driven up COP of some avg sch , high avg sch from 1 to 6/8 pts.esp obvious in 2018 batch , COP for a lot of abv avg sch up 3 to 5 pts ! 2019 batch COP for such sch also incre 1 to 3 pts . So in total some sch can incre range from 3 to 8 pts over two yrs 2018 and 2019 - I really hope this yr is more stabilized ... IP sch COP range i think more stabilised
But the low range COP are still in range of 188/20x - no improvements

          Hi

My son scored 261, and we were struggling between RI (cos it’s nearer to our house) and ACS(I) IB (cos his form teacher commented my son is more suited to IB).

ACS(I) is really quite far from where we stay (we stay near Potong Pasir) but i think we have more or less settled on placing that as our first choice.

I don’t really know what to put for his 2nd - 6th option though. I read some comments which mentioned that the COP can fluctuate up to 8 points (!!) so i think we shouldn’t take getting into ACS (I) for granted. Right now, my thoughts are:

          1) ACS (I) IB
          2) ACS o level (cos can try to get into IB at year 3, if COP drastically changes this year)
          3) SJI IB
          4) - 6) ???

We prefer boys’ schools…thanks in advance for any advice given!

Hi I’m new here. My DS has a score of 254 with no HMT. We would like to put our school choices as follows :

              Acsi(IB)
              NJC
              Acsi (O level)
              SJI (IB)
              Rvhs
              Nan Hua

Can advise if we have a chance for first choice?

So my daughter got 259+2 and these are her choices

                  1. NYGH (2019 cop-261)
                  2. NJC (2019 cop-254)
                  3. RVHS (2019 cop-253)
                  4. SCGS (2019 cop-252)
                  5. NHHS (2019 cop-246)
                  6. BPGHS (2019 cop-244)

I told her the difference between nanyang and NJC was quite big and she should choose a school in between so any recommendations?

Hello, I’m quite new to this platform but would really appreciate all the advice given. My daughter scored 251+3 for hmt and not so sure about the schools she wants to go. We are staying in the north.

                    1) Rvhs
                    2) St.nicks O level
                    3)Cedar girls O level
                    4)Nan hua high

Not really sure about the last couple choices but would really appreciate any help as I dont really know about sec schools in singapore.

Can I check does the school choice matters? For example, if I put xx sch as 5th choice but the other student put the same sch as 2nd choice but both these students got the same score, will the student who put the sch as 2nd choice get admitted first? Whereas the student who put as 5th choice will depends on whether there is still vacancy when it come to his turn.
The queue depends on T-score, not which choice it is. When it is your turn, the computer runs down your list. That is when the choice matters - you will be assigned to the first school that has a vacancy. So list in order of preference. No-one will stop you from putting RI as no. 6, it's just that you aren't likely to get that far down your list (unless you put only schools that have filled up by that point). If none of the 6 schools has a vacancy by that point, the computer will assign you to any school that has a vacancy.
