Hi, I'm keen to apply my girl to Crescent girl but the concern is long distance. Would like to check any Crescent's girls residing at Sengkang? How's the travelling option? TIA[/quote] -

Definitely Crescent. CGS has a much bigger cohort, likely that it will have more options when it comes to sec 3 subject combi. Every school will say that they have a right not to offer a certain subject combi if there is not enough demand. So with a bigger cohort, chances of that happening should be lower.
Hi, I would like to ask about your opinion on these schools: SCGS (Ip, not O Level) and CGS. Both are close to home (though my child can cycle to CGS). With a T-score of 254, which do you think I should choose?
Thank you!
(CGS is Crescent Girls school)
Plus it is nearer home, no reason why she should travel and spend more on school fees for a school similar in standard.
What about ccas? I see that scgs has tennis and squash and synchronised swimming, whereas Crescent has track and field, softball and hockey. -

Why is she torn? Crescent clearly ranks above PL on all counts, except for the fact that PL is affiliated to AC. But if you look at AC, not that many of them are from PL also.
Hi. My gal is torn choosing between CGS and PLMGS. No issue meeting cop for both, no issue on distance, no issue on CCA (choir). Is CGS being IT savvy a make or break factor for the girls at this stage. Will the IT savviness be a key critical advantage past secondary life? Appreciate your thoughts on which school would be a better choice.... -

Exactly.
make. if you are familiar with the edu scene, the choice is clear.mikrokosmosdog\" post_id=\"2005144\" time=\"1606506958\" user_id=\"189804:

I'm not sure if SCGS IP and CGS are 'similar in standard' - there is no affiliation to SCGS IP and there are quite a few kids in my DD's year scoring 260s and low 270s. DSA (non academic) girls are offered O Level Programme, but they can apply for admission to IP if their PSLE score meets the COP for IP.

CGS is of course, also a strong school. And yes, one has to pay independent school fees at SCGS. If one is looking for IT / Programming / Comp Science emphasis, I would say, it is not an emphasis at SCGS, unlike the way it is in my other child's school, where Computing is a compulsory, examinable subject in lower Sec. -

Hi I am a current crescent girl's student living in Sembawang. I do know 4 girls from my cohort who opt to use public transport. I reccoment taking the red line towards Marina Bay and alight at Orchard. Exit by exit B. There will be a couple of escalators on the way. Once you come up, cross both signals there to get to the bus stop and board bus number 111 to alight at Crescent. Although travelling takes some time, i use that time to relax myself and start studying in around 10 mins once i get home! Plus a lot of ppl in crescent travel long distances to get to school so you don't need to worry much!
Hi sguser, that's what I have found. I'm staying at Sembawang area.sguser\" post_id=\"2004851\" time=\"1606454057\" user_id=\"122018:
