At end-of-Sec 2 streaming exercise choosing Sec 3 subject combination,

for students who are taking Sec 3 Triple Pure Sciences, are they allowed to consume 2 Humanities, instead of just one single Humanities ?

      Example

Can end-of-Sec 2 Top students in CCH (Main) allowed to appeal,

take Total 9 subjects in O-level exam,
      comprising

(Triple Pure Sciences + Double Humanities) instead of the initial, original Total 8 subjects permitted,
      as follow ?

      1) English language

      2) Higher Chinese

(compulsory in CCH Main, not Yishun branch)

      3) Additional Maths

      4) Elementary Maths

      5) Pure Physics

      6) Pure Chemistry

      7) Pure Biology

😎 Combined Humanities, comprising 2 components (compulsory Social Studies + an Elective, which you can choose from your Literature / Geography / History ), is treated as overall one single subject.

This is your first Humanities subject

"Social Studies" need to be paired & tagged along together, with an "Elective", together then form one subject.

      9) Core or Full Humanities

This is your second humanities subject.

Only 8 subjects offered. In fact, the school encourages students to take up the 7 subjects option, too.

            How many students?

            Good evening qms

I have no idea exactly how many students were enrolled in 2020 Sec 1. I know the number of classes have been reduced from 10 to 9. Maybe you have some info that you can shared with us.

              9 classes
              2020 Sec 1 have Total 9 classes ?

Each class, around 38 to 40 pupils?

so, Total nine Sec 1 classes will be approximately ( 9 x 40), roughly 360 students?

How do CCH (Main) differentiate the students inside these 9 classes ?

              E.g..

              - do they put all DSA (Chinese Orchestra candidates under Performing Arts) into one same class, or spread them out ?

              - do they put all DSA Sports students from

(Basketball, Badminton, Table tennis, Wushu) into their own individual unique Sec 1 class ?

              - put all these who DSA by Chinese subject, into another class on their own ?

My kids are in CCHM. Once they utter this at home: “in life not everything will go your way. You just have to deal with it”. When attending school talks, these are the same theme the school staffs touch upon every now and then. During a CCA invitation, a mother queried why doesn’t the school give the students more time to prepare for CCA after regular lesson; her girl has to rush to bun up her hair. The teacher in charge highlighted the seniors have learnt to adapt, bun up their hair during recess.

I don’t know about other schools. But I know these life skills, my kids are picking up from CCHM

                      Hi

Just want to get some advice that is it worth to choose CCHM over AHS since both are SAP schools? As I am residing at Bedok area hence is it advisable for my girl to choose CCHM as travelling distance is quite tedious right?

                      Thanks .

Give CCH (Main) General office admin a call. See if they can help provide school bus one way in the morning to school, from your house in Bedok. This school bus operator may not be directly from CCH (Main) but admin can give you the hand phone contact number to contact the driver.

If don’t have school bus go your bedok house to reach here, then choose Anglican High

If have school bus one way from Bedok to come here, let your son or daughter decide, prefer Anglican High or prefer this school, since ultimately the student is the one need to travel everyday to school, to and fro

                        ===========================

Students who are keen to join CCH (Main), it is good to do it now via S1 Moe posting after Psle. Don’t wait until end of Sec 1 or until end of Sec 2 to try to seek Transfer in, because chances are,
there is no vacancy at end of Sec 2 for Transfer.

Usually every year at end of Sec 2 streaming exercise year, there is no lack of candidates inside the Waiting list, attempting to seek Transfer into CCH (Main). Yes, this school is hot, in demand
