For CL, it's fairly \"understandable\" because of the differences in tested components. For eg., picture compo from 4 to 6 pics, paper 2 from /45 to /90 and some schools covering video format oral for the first time (some schools expose their students to video format oral in Pri 4 but there are also schools that use the old picture style format to build the students' oral description and conversation skills).
- preparing for Oral (focus on expanding vocab range on nouns and verbs) which will be tested in Aug
- consolidating understanding of syllabus words and phrases for Pri 5
- working on descriptive phrases for feelings, actions and weather to be used in compo writingstaypositive18\" post_id=\"2006540\" time=\"1606908572\" user_id=\"189915:
Hi, new here to learn more tips too as my girl taking PSLE next year too.
Seems this year end results, there is a drop of 8-10 marks, wondering should I be worrying? π
As what other members have suggested, it's important to analyze which area requires working on (e.g. paper 2 booklet A - i.e. syllabus words and phrases, compo, or compre etc.)sky minecrafter\" post_id=\"2006693\" time=\"1606980242\" user_id=\"130531:

...there is still 1 year to prepare!...
Less than a year -> 10 months
And just ~8.5 months to PSLE Oral examination

If your child's compo is ~mid 20s, then I would recommend starting off with εζε·¨ζ ιΈδ½ζ200η― Chinese Mega Compositions (mentioned in the first link) first.

I share the same view. Do let your child revise the P5 topics. I understand that some of the school will want their students to do some of the past years PSLE papers in school so as to assess the student's level of understanding prior to Preliminary and even PSLE. Hence , best to check with the school before letting your child to attempt PSLE past year papers. One more point to note, for 2020 Maths and Science PSLE papers, certain topics are excluded due to COVID situation.

It can be demoralising for a just-completed-P5 kid to be asked to do P6 Maths and Science. Surely there will be topics and more advanced types of questions they have yet to cover. If you must do this, check carefully that the child has actually covered the topics. Personally, I have never liked to teach in advance, or to ask my kids to try things that they have not yet covered. If your child has not done as well as expected in P5, it would be more useful to do more P5 questions and deal with all the gaps and misunderstandings there, so that the foundation for P6 will be strong.KKmama\" post_id=\"2005917\" time=\"1606713942\" user_id=\"42931:
Or should we give them p6 assessment books for them to do first to let them get use to p6 qns first?
For the languages, the above doesn't apply, so doing some practice with P6 questions is probably OK.
But don't do too much - 2 hrs a day is quite a lot. If your child starts P6 already feeling burned out and that he hasn't had a break, he will be even less able to study well in his P6 year. -
settle this first,
for those P6 (Maths & Science) key topics that have been omitted out for this 2020 P6 batch,
due to covid-19 disruption,
confirm with your 2021 P6 class Teachers / HOD, will they be added back, put them back, re-tested inside 2021 Psle, like All the topics that had been tested inside 2019 Psle ?
Here are the 2020 Psle topics, that were removed from 2019 Psle batch

Could I know what is that? i googled it is not like \"class\"
Don't think there's a need to worry too much as there is still 1 year to prepare! Think as long as she does some revision during holidays to make sure she is still familiar it should be okay. I am probably doing the same for my girl, am considering Snapask's revision classes after chancing upon it.staypositive18\" post_id=\"2006540\" time=\"1606908572\" user_id=\"189915:

When the official school year starts on Jan 4 for Ministry of Education (MOE) kindergartens and primary schools, only Kindergarten 1 (K1) children and Primary 1 (P1) pupils need to report to their new schools.
Kindergarten 2 and Primary 2 to Primary 6 children will remain at home and report to school only on Jan 5. It will be an extra day of holiday for these older children.
MOE said on Friday (Dec 18) that special education and secondary schools will also reopen on Jan 4, while junior colleges (JCs) and Millennia Institute (MI) will start on Jan 11.
On the earlier start date for K1 and P1 children, MOE said this is to better welcome the younger children, and ensure that safe management measures can be implemented effectively.

School resources are usually sufficient for Oral and most Paper 2 components.

Get additional resources if your child is weak in certain areas.
Eg., if weak in Vocabulary, get Vocab assessment book (general and thematic)
For compos, you can ask your child to read one or two compositions from Creative Writing books by The Alternative Story. If your child likes it, buy one of the books.
All the best.
