I'm sure those who wanted to know already know but EJC appears to have done quite well this year? Next year (2021 A Level) will include the JAE kids that entered with Science = 7 / Arts = 8 JAE COP (to the extent this matters at all). Continue to watch...
Change 2019 to 2020:
Cohort Size: 610 --> 591
Median: 83 --> 85
UAS 85+: 40% --> 50%
UAS 90: 11% --> 13%
3H2 Distinction: 33.33% --> 40%
*2018 Stats (first year of A Level): Cohort Size = 529, Mean = 85, 3H2 Distinction = 50%

compare Ejc to the top schools ,this may show up as an area of relative weakness as most of Ejcian students would’ve taken 3 H2 subjects and not 4 H2 with 1-2 H3 subjects. -

If Ejc admits more JAE students, we will see a downward trend in results similar to Dhs recent dismay results. -

What a sweeping statement to blame it all on JAE students........ -

Dhs admission of JAE shows clearly its poor results amongst top tier JCs.
Rv results too dropped more.
Ejc wont want to admit more % JAE, scare results affected.
It has its 60% IP students to maintain results. -
I don’t think any JC has the prerogative to decide how many JAE students to take (whether it be RI, DHS or EJC). MOE makes the call based on the teachers, facilities etc. The same goes with student numbers in each Secondary School. For example, I know a school which had to move from 2 to 1 NA class, not because the school wants to, but MOE decides on the allocation of places.
60% IP is not unusually high for an IP-JC. -

How come with only 20% of JAE, DHS still performed badly?
So DHS 80% IP students can't even match EJC 60% IP students to maintain their results? -

Compared to other IP JC, Ejc IP cohort is a lot.

60% IP is not unusually high for an IP-JC.
Vjc , NJC IP ~40% -
Because you are comparing to JCs which have higher proportion of JAE intake.
EJC is the only JC with three IP Sec Schools. If you compare with JCs with IP students like RI, HCI, DHS, RVHS, I think EJC is not terribly out of line. That’s why my statement that 60% IP is not unusally high - it is not low either compared to other JCs.
