I understand your concerns about P1! πŸ™‚ I have heard many who told me that it is very important to find a good pre-school, so that the kids do not have to struggle with the increasingly competitive standards in primary school now. I have heard that Kinderland and Montessori train their children very well for primary school (different methods of course).

My boy is at The Children's Campus.

I did try to source for a good Montessori school/childcare for him, but was generally disappointed. Perhaps it's because my expectations were a little too high πŸ™‚ You know, given the extensive comments that I've heard. In the end I decided to enrol my boy in a more 'sociable' environment with lots of singing and dancing and laughter. Of course, I would have wanted a school which prepare their children well, with lots of laughter etc, you know, everything πŸ™‚ But I guess I decided that it is more important for my boy to love school and to love learning, so I decided to enrol him in a more 'activity-based' school.

How much you paying right now? The good thing about Faith is that it blends the Montessori and MOE curriculum together. I tot that was good cos there has been feedback given that children who go to full MOntessori can’t adapt when they reach p1.

Also, feedback that I got from the others was Faith was a good place altho it is not so well-known.

Yes, I think Faith is quite a good place - I have heard of it πŸ™‚ I think you should be rest assured that your daughter is in good hands πŸ™‚

I am paying $525 (after MCYS subsidy) for half-day currently.

I would love to be a SAHM! πŸ™‚ But I like that I am working, and believing that my money goes into something worthwhile for my children. They grow up too fast...

We are probably one of those parents who pay quite a bit for our child's 'education' at such a young age already πŸ™‚ But I like to believe that early childhood is very important. My husband and I always felt that we missed out on a lot of things in life because of our exposure. For instance, we believe in Speech and Drama etc, because both my husband and I have seen our friends who took these when they were young, growing up to excel in many things, eg. debating in schools, in musical areas too. Of course, we are not saying everyone would become like that, but we would like to give our children the exposure and opportunity if we can afford. The rest, is really up to them already.

I have a friend who did kindergarten in Canada and she told me she loved it there. They did cooking, baking, and had walks during autumn in forest trails, and built snowmen etc. I think it's quite 'cute' that in Singapore, we have to 'pay extra' for our kids to do baking, cooking etc πŸ™‚ Where over there, they probably feel that it's 'routine' πŸ™‚

                Yes i agree!

I really don’t mind working to give my daughter a better education. Research has shown that the first 6 years of a child’s life are crucial to their development. And I am sure that we are not the only ones who are paying such fees. Parents in Singapore are very willing to stretch themselves to give their kids a good education or a headstart in life. And you really get what you pay for. It has been proven that kids who had a montessori pre-school education do better when they get to p1. Of course after that, it is all up to them!

I went to the one at Hillview. I know of someone who sent her daughter to B Timah one, had full of praises for it.

Hi, which Faith Motessorri were you referring to? Is it the one in Dunearn or the one at Moonbeam Walk?

                      Hi

I am planning to put my 20mth old in Faith Montessori Hillview branch.

Anyone put your toddler in PG there before? PLs share your experience.

Or if your child is already in classes for bigger kids, pls also share. I hope to put my child there long-term and not switch around.

                      Thanks.

My gal is at the Bukit Timah Branch but she is in K2. Not sure about the PG because I only sent her there in k1. But as for my experience, I think so far am quite happy. She has progressed well in all aspects, acaedemically, socially and emotionally. From what I know, the whole school is full at the moment unless you don't mind the afternoon session.
