School starts at 8am on Monday-Thursday and 9am on Friday.
Dismissal time gets later as you age, it's usually in the mid-afternoon.
No specific CCA day, depends on the CCA itself (once, twice or thrice a week).
means the kids will eat lunch in school?
any idea on the recess and lunch break timing?
      many thanks 😊

It is not like in primary school where breaks and lunch timing are fixed every day. Not to worry, your child will know the timing when the class time table is given out. Each class has its own Day1-Day10 time table (2 weeks cycle).

Can parents share the usual route to pick up or drop off your child if driving?

If go from the front gate, is the queue to enter school very long in the morning? What about the back gate? Is there a convenient place to drop or pick at the back gate? Crowded too?

You might want to check with your child if he is comfortable with you chauffeuring him. Big boy already 🙂

Thanks. Not planning to chauffeur him but only occasionally if running late or if on my way to office. So appreciate parents who drive to share the traffic conditions at front and back gates. 😂

                Hi Parents,

I have 2 P6 kids and both decided opt for DHS .One gotten total AL 6D and the other gotten 7D.In your experience, what are the chances being together? Really not sure both can cope with many GEP and AL 4 eyeing DHS…We attended the e orientation and s staff said they will be separated the GEP and AL4 away from the rest to manage the pace of learning within the IP journey?

Anyone can share the culture of DHS too?We personally believe that SAP has more compassionate and empathic culture right?

Appreciate for any personal sharing.Thank you.

\"what are the chances being together?\" - do you mean in the same school DHS? or in the same class?

The last 1-2 classes are GEP classes, allocation for the rest of the classes are random.
There is no differentiation between GEP and mainstream from sec 3 onwards.
I think as long as your kids are consistent and don't leave things to the last minute, they will have no problem coping.
Are both your kids from a SAP primary school? If so, DHS culture should be quite similar and many students will describe it as 'family-like'. Students are positive and teachers often remind them about 诚信勇忠.

Thanks for your sharing in allowing me/my family to understand better.Same school as one of them gotten 7D instead of 6 and the cut off point for DHS is 7 right?

both are from SAP primary schools and quite handful of 4 and 5 AL pointers, and we are concerned whether any quota per primary school during S1 selection.

Hope both can qualify together and it is assuring that DHS has a \"family like \" culture.

                    Thanks and appreciate.

You're welcome. DHS indicative PSLE score range of 2020 is 4(D)-8(D). Even if the COP moves to 7, I think 7(D) stands a good chance. There is no quota per primary school for secondary schools (DHS included) except those that have affiliated primary schools. Both kids are very likely to qualify, congrats for their good results!

My hubby drives my boys to school every morning. He drops them off at the back gate. Can drive in to drop off. As they are usually early like around 7am, the traffic is still smooth.
