Just for some non-scientific , light-hearted discussion only.

I guess only ah.
See if it’s a logical way to think:

If I’m the RI dsa panel, given equally qualified / talented candidates in front of me,

AL 4-6 : you can try again during psle, give others a chance please.

AL 7-8-9: let’s give it a shot at these kids.

AL double digits : I also want to help you but is it too far a stretch? The child will be suffering at the end of it’s a mismatch.
There are people who got into RI via DSA with AL4 to AL10+. As one parent put it - everything is reset from Day 1 of Sec 1 and AL no longer matters.

What matter is whether your child can adapt to the academic rigour and the demands of the CCA which he is expected to honour his commitment to it and participate in the activities related to the talent he is selected for from Year 1-4.

Here are some (hard to find) answers (RP, RA, Streaming, Y3 Course combi) I wished I had before Y2. These are public (unlisted vids) shared in 2024.

Briefing on Raffles Academy (in context of Raffles Program)

2024 Briefing on Y32024 Course options

just to satisfy my curiousity, are all RI Leadership DSA applicants asked to submit a personal statement?
Yes, RI will read ALL personal statements before short-listing for next round.

Take note of the phrase \"as evidenced in any or all of the following\" in RI's FAQ. If RI is one of your son's choices, just go ahead and apply.

Hi,
Is DHS a all IP school? All along I thought DHS was a IP school but when I received my son posting it states DHS express course ?
DHS is an IP school.
Posting will indicate IP as express course for all IP schools with IP only.

I can’t seem to view your link?

It would only affect the merging schools’ COP right? For example, unless we know for sure that (hypothetically) RI or some other popular school has cut vacancies by 1 class / 30 students due to falling birth rates, we can’t extrapolate that the COP for the popular schools will decrease this year.
The link is working at my end, not sure why it can't be viewed.

The merging will likely affect the COP for these schools, don't think the popular schools will reduce intake.

The % is the same yes, but (unless the Sec 1 vacancies have been cut accordingly) it is worthwhile looking at the absolute numbers.
Sec 1 vacancies have been cut accordingly (secondary schools mergers) in response to falling birth rates
