Anyone with feedback for Montessori for Children at Newton? Their teachers are AMI trained, but the ratio is really big, like 1 teacher to about 20 kids (as found on their website)!
Hi,
My kid is there. There are 2 teachers per class at all times. She's in the PM session so the class size is half with 2 teachers. I know of a parent who switch her son to AM session but she has no complain about the class size affectiing her son's progress. I also checked with a Montessori teacher in US and was informed that in general for 2-6yrs old mixed class (in ages), in case you are not aware, MFC group children of different ages together, the ration is 1:12, 1:15 so with 2 teachers the class size would be similar to the one at MFC Newton. Thtere are other factors as well such as the physical size of the class, the experience level of the teacher and the age spread of the children. -

Heyya TripHop daddy,
One of our forummers who runs a student care centre
had rave reviews for Shekinah Montessori. Check it out
if it's near where you are residing.
Heard that MMI
Sengkang has huge premise but the staff turnover is quite
a concern for many. Hope this helps give you a headstart.. -
Hi TripHop daddy,
Not sure how much you know about the Motessori Method. Itβs good to have some information about it so that you know what sort of questions to ask and things to look out for when you are kindergarten hunting.
Good luck -

Hi HuiHi all
Anyone can give comments about Great Beginning Montessori, located at Siglap (just behind Siglap centre)?
Thanks
I checked out this school some weeks ago. Both Directresses are from Montessori Institutes in UK. From the outset, and chatting with the 2, school seems ok except for:
- Premises quite small, hence no place allocated for Outdoor.
- School is new - only about 3 years old.
I've a friend who's son is there and she sings praises of the school. Also, another KSP forumer \"Life Butter Well\" has good feedback about the school where her daughter went to it. Daughter is now in primary school.
Have u checked out the school? Any comments to share?
Any other Montessoris you're considering that u can share feedback on?
Great Beginnings is one of the schools I've shortlisted for my son.
Only hesitant now about the \"excepts\" above.
Have also looked at Little Sparks Montessori (Siglap Drive) and Dynamic World Montessori (East Coast Road). -
Hi all,
I m here seeking for all your advice. I m planning to send my gal who is 2.5 years old to a playgroup. I m considering either MRC or Aces montessori both located at downtown east at pasir ris. Any feedback on these two sch? I m lost now? Thanks -
Hi Twin
I have checked out the school and personally both my hubby and I like it. Reasons:-
1. school is clean
2. teachers are caring and friendly
3. kids from different races (we think this is good as she can get more exposure)
The only concern we have about the school is - will kids be able to adapt to the classroom sit down style when they go to primary school? Definitely I think montessori teaching will help them alot but its the technic we are concern. As far as i am aware, some of the montessori adopts integrated programme when the kids go to K1 and K2.
Nevertheless I will let my gal try out for a term and see how things go.
How about you?
Cheers
