...Many students wear plain Bata...
OT:
Hi, just chipping in about white shoes... We used to wear Bata too, but as kids go on to tweens, Bata shoes felt somewhat bulkier(?), furthermore our preferred Bata design was often out of sizes. In the end, we switched to good ol' neighbourhood shops, who recommended Checkers (my dc2 has to wear white with laces)

                  Hi

My gal will be transferring to SNGS for her sec 2 in 2022, may I know how many classes are there? Any parent grp chat? What PLD is the school using? CCA are on Thurs and Fri only or depends?

It’s like Sec 1 going to a new environment but without orientation this round 🙂

There is an official level parents chat, on an opt-in basis, administered by the respective Level Rep (who is a parent).
                    PLD is ipad with pencil.
CCA days — check the school website.
Check the school Facebook for “orientation” to know the school better.

                        Info,
for incoming Transfer students into St Nick, either at the end of (Sec 1 or Sec 2)
                        =========================

                        Lower Secondary -
                        Total, there are 10 classes.
                        That is,
                        ( 5 IP + another 5 O-level ) classes

                        1) IP track

names of the five IP classes,
from Year (1 to 4), are

(Loyalty, Purity, Truth, Unity and Wisdom)

Year 1 IP students who are taking MEP (Music Elective program), will be assigned to join \"Loyalty\" class.

                        End-of-year 4 IP students :-

                        a) will take Higher Chinese (O-level) exam.

                        b) will take year end Term 4 promotional exam, to join Eunoia Junior College (in Year 5).

                        Note
There is NO \"bridging \" course for A-level H1 or H2 (Biology nor Physics), in Eunoia JC.

Thus, during end of Year 2 streaming exercise,
whether to take up Year 3 (Bio or Physics), besides interests (passion), besides considering future potential career path (university courses), also need to exercise discernment, in knowing (analyze) your own subject academic strength / weakness, based on your past two years' IP results.

                        Why, bring this up ?

                        Because

                        In the past batches,
there were some IP students who took Pure Physics in their \"Double Sciences\" Year 3 subject combination. They did not do well in Physics, at end of their Promotional IP Year 4 exam. They regreted having chosen Physics, wished that they had selected Bio instead, because now they lack confidence with A-level (Physics), intend to switch over to A-level Bio, inside EJC.

                        2) O-level track (OP)

names of the five O-level classes found in Lower Secondary, are

(Charity, Diligence, Faith, Grace and Justice).

Sec 1 students in the Music Elective (O-level track) , will be assigned to join \"Charity\" class.

                        When come to Sec 3,
we will open up one more new class, called Sec 3 \"Hope\". Change !
To become Total, six OP classes at Upper Secondary level.

                        Note
OP students who are taking HCL,

                        c) will need to sit for Standard Chinese (O-level) in November, at end of their Sec 3.

                        And also,

                        d) will sit for Higher Chinese (O-level) in November, at end of their Sec 4.

What happen to OP students, who scored
                        (B4 or C5 or C6),
in their Sec 3 November O-level (Standard Chinese) ?

                        No worry !
                        No discrimination.

OP HCL students can still proceed to take O-level (Higher Chinese), in Sec 4 (November).

                        ==========================

                        3) parents' chat group

Yes, you may join each individual class's chat group.

                        4) Cca time table

try to google for Cca time table on website, for that particular Cca that you are interested in.
