St Nick is a SAP school.
In St Nick,
there are some ( China and Malaysian ) students studying here, whose Chinese are powerful.
At the end of Sec 2 streaming,
during choosing Sec 3 " Humanities " combination that part -
some of our girls may prefer to choose "Full" (Pure) Chinese Literature.
However, our school also factor in the demand level for it.
If the demand for that batch is low, then school will offer "Elective" Chinese Literature, instead of "Full" (Pure) Chinese Literature.
Example
2022 Sec 3 this year,
we do offer "Elective" Chinese Literature. Yes, they chose Chinese Literature, not English Literature.
For " Elective " Chinese Literature,
SEAB exam subject code is 2287 -

2022 Sec 4 OP Higher Chinese students (born 2006 batch),
- who have taken the O-level (Standard Chinese or \" bu-hua \" ) Oral cum Listening Comprehension National exam in July 2021, last year
And
- who have also sat for their O-level (Standard Chinese) both Papers 1 (zuowen) and Paper 2, dated 10 November 2021 (last year) -
MOE is going to release your GCE O-level (Standard Chinese) results next week,
anytime from (12 to 14 January, 2022).
Congratulations,
if OP students have scored A1 to B3, in your O level (bu-hua).
Even if have scored B4 to C6, never mind,
our school still allow Sec 4 OP students to proceed to sit for their O-level (Higher Chinese or \" gao hua \"), in November. This way, you can discount your L1R5 by 2 points, for admission into a Junior College, after your clearance of O-level (HCL)
Thanks for the info!
My girl is in Sec 4 taking HMT and sheโs received her MT (B3) today. Just wondering if sheโs allowed to re-sit her MT exam this year to better her grade? -

The Total six 2022 Upper Sec 3 OP classes of students (born 2007) from St Nick,
may take note.
If you are a Sec 3 OP HCL student,
what happened last year ?
To have an idea,
a) Oral for O-level (Standard Chinese) took place, dated from (6 to 18) July 2021 during this period, last year.
b) both Papers (1 and 2) for O-level (Standard Chinese) took place in November 2021, last year.
When our 2022 new academic school Term started just last week, parents,
did you notice that our Sec 3 girls have already received a stack of Chinese Oral notes ("kou shi "), from their class Chinese laoshi ?
Purpose ?
to get your daughter to start preparing, gearing up for Chinese Oral, for the next 6 months down the road. Time passes very quickly, day by day.
As you know, for Oral, any topic can come out under the sun during O-level. Thus, Oral preparation need a substantial amount of time, particularly if you are targeting for a Distinction grade (either A1 or A2) for your Standard Chinese.
Moreover, this Oral component overall constitute a significant, very high percentage (portion), out of the entire Standard Chinese (O-level) paper.
For this year,
SEAB will issue the O-level exam timetable sometime in April 2022.
Note
SEAB does not allow Sec 3 OP HCL students to take the O-level Chinese Language exam in June. So, students can only take the exam in November.
In Sec 4,
the OP HCL students will sit for their Higher Chinese exam. -
Last year, my daughterโs class only received the stack of Chinese oral notes after the June holidays. If I rem correctly, it was given out a week before the O level oral exams, only after some parents feedback to form teacher on the lack of oral preparation by the Chinese teacher. So Iโm glad to hear that the S3 girls are getting them much earlier this year ๐

this year (2022), our Sec 3 six OP classes
are given \"kou shi\" notes early, on various Chinese Oral topics. If they start preparing now for July 2022 (O-level Oral), should be fine. The parents' feedback from your batch, certainly helped our girls this year. Thank you. Very much appreciated !
Your daughter (born 2005) sat for O level, last year batch (2021) ? Congratulations!
The O-level results came out this week, on 12 January 2021.
St Nick churned out not just good, but VERY good results, across \" ALL \" subjects. The distinction rates for All the O-level subjects, are very high !

There are a number of students inside St Nick, eg. Malaysian & China students, very powerful in their Chinese.
For students who have done very well, scored
minimum Distinction A2 in their O-level Standard Chinese
OR
a minimum B3 in their Higher Chinese
And
are still very passionate, having strong keen desire to continue want to pursue A-level H2 (Chinese language together with Chinese Literature),
may consider joining a CLEP-Junior College.
The few five CLEP JCs are mentioned inside the reference below :-
