Dear fellow parents, can a student do both E2k Science and E2k Math? Or he can only do one?
If it's possible to do both, how is the workload like? Are there a lot of assignments?
My child is invited to do the E2k Science. He likes both Science and Math and he is thinking whether it is possible to do both.

The 2 programs were conducted on the same day of the week. My dd was offered both, so she had to choose 1. I support this arrangement as it allows more students to participate in such enrichment opportunities. If I’m not wrong, there’s a cap of 25 students per class. As far as I can recall, no assignments -

It depends on your child's school. Best to ask the school teachers if they are allowed to do both.

Some schools conduct E2K outside curriculum time, but some include within as a special class that will devote lesson time to handling more challenging questions. But there are usually no homework, no test. Just a stretch programme that exposes them to more stimulation.
Some schools only allocate either E2K Math or Science to one student, hence giving more the opportunities.
Some conduct both on the same day which makes it impossible to do both.
Usually it is 45 min once a week. -

Some schools that are doing selection may have given info by now so the kids can attend selection tests.
But your child's school may be different. Best to ask the school if you are keen. -
May I know what is the criteria for getting E2K science? My son has scored pretty decently in Science, around full marks for the first 2 tests, and maybe 95% for the year (under the report book). He has also passed GEP round 1 but we did not get any E2K science invitation, which is a pity as my son is quite looking forward to it. Does the ungraded year end exam paper play a part in it? If so, then it probably served him right as he didn’t want to study for the test since he insisted it was not graded.

Different schools select with different criteria. You may want to email the Science HOD to enquire. Perhaps your child's school has not even sent out any letters yet.

hi… just received a letter stating that my DS has been selected for both Math and SC E2K and she has to choose one.
