Among the 3 schools, MGS is a all girls' school, HCI is a all boys' school and only NUSH is a co-ed school.

        So the decision is between

NUS High vs HCI (if child is boy)
        or
NUS hIgh vs MGS (if child is girl)

They clashed on the (same day + same timing)

        Or

clashed on the (same day + different timing ) ?

        If different timing,
        still can attend.

        If same timing,
got to decide, drop which one, if they forbid re-schedule.
For this, have to decide, what u want ? You prefer

        - NUS High, by-pass GCE A-level
        Or

        - Hwa Chong, preference to take A-level exam
        Or

        - MGS ( IB ) curriculum,
nothing to do with A-level ?

My girl went for Math and Science... Math and Bilingualism had like 120 girls for each domain at the auditorium whereas Science had 16 girls in the science laboratory (or thwre are 2 different science laboratory) at a sitting (i presume there are various sitting and timing for science domain too). The selecrion tests was tough. So those girls that can get through to the interview rounds must be really 👍🏻! All the best!!!! It was a good eye opener and experience for my girl.

If a child is accepted to a school from the DSA exercise via an academic domain (eg Math or Science), what is the expectation of the school?

For sports, it would be clearly to participate in the training and competition of that sport.

But for academic? Min subject score? Training for Olympiad type competition?

Any feedback and inputs? I would imagine it differ by schools?

Any chance of the kid failing to meet expectation? (Secondary is very different from primary). Any repercussion when that happen?

Please double check with the specific schools that your child has applied to. In general I believe:

                        a) To enter the school the student needs to obtain AL20 or better (for IP programmes), no minimum subject scores. On an on-going basis, I don't believe there will be any minimum subject scores (related to the domain itself) to stay in the school. Instead, the student just needs to meet the school's annual promotion criteria (which may include minimum scores for certain subjects ,but this would be a common requirement and not specific to any DSA domain).

                        b) Expectation of the school could be to participate in the domain activities in Years 1-4. Probably varies by school but could include Olympiad trainings/competitions, additional enrichment activities/modules/subjects, and/or certain subject/academic programmes in upper secondary (admission may not be guaranteed though).

If your child gets a CO/WL, you should have time to clarify what is required in the Sept-Oct timeframe before preference submissions are due.
