Any idea when will the Bayshore MRT be ready? 2024?

What’s the fastest way for anyone travelling from up north?

Bayshore MRT is in stage 4.

Stage 3 is supposed to open in 2022, which I think is clearly a difficult, if not impossible, milestone. If Stage 3 is pushed back by a year, you can assume Stage 4 will be pushed back by a similar timeframe as well.

          Thomson-East Coast Line 4
Stage 4 of the Thomson-East Coast Line opens up rail connections in the East Coast region, from Gardens by the Bay to Bayshore station. It was initially slated to be completed by 2023. In a written reply by the Minister of Transport on 11 May 2021, the line will be pushed back by a year to 2024 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

That’s good. Meaning students residing at bright hill/sin ming area will have a direct train journey. If the train ride is about 30 mins after the completion of phase 4, it would be fantastico!

Stage 4... still a while to go.

Anyway, I stand corrected about Stage 3. Apparently, the Ministry of Transport is quite confident it will go ahead 2H 2022 as per the https://www.mot.gov.sg/news/details/written-reply-to-parliamentary-question-on-update-on-completion-and-commencement-of-operations-for-phase-3-of-thomson-east-coast-line-and-johor-bahru---singapore-rapid-transit-link.

Several kids I know travel from Punggol to Paya Lebar MRT (NEL to CCL) and then bus to VS. There are several buses from PLQ to VS ~ an hour or less.
