Hi gurus, we reside within 1km of SNGS and failed in our ballot in phase 2B; we specifically rented for the school and now am wondering if we should stick by our choice and try again in phase 2C but the odds would be worst. Our backup plan is MCS but that would probably end up in a ballot in phase 2CS as well. Need your kind insights if we should push through and try again in phase 2C? Thanks so much..
Since within 1km then try for SNGS lah, since you specifically rented a place to be near school. SNGS has affiliation to a good secondary school but not MCS.

        Hi all

My address was not updated in the system as we got our new place after 31 May. There was a link to another form and we used that to register and we received an acknowledgement email from MOE. Should be confirmed right or do i need to go thru the registration portal which showed my old house address? Anxious la sorry…

            Acknowledged means confirmed.
Would you like a chop, stamp and statement from the Minister for it to be double confirmed?

A confirmed placement will do. Who cares about ministers who thinks cotton comes from sheep and eggs are meat??

                1. is the MOE acknowledgement relating to acknowledgement of primary one registration or confirmation of placement?

                2. home address should be the registered address when you log into singpass to check unless you are using another address, such as alternative child care arrangement or sale property. It is easy to change your singpass registered address and this will normally be updated within 2-3 working days.

                  Summary:
He / She gotten the new place after 31 May. As such, it won't be reflected in the MOE P1 Registration system as it would have missed the system cut-off date to capture the necessary data. He / She has to use the other alternative method, aka online form link provided in the P1-IS. However, he / she kanchiong that after receiving the acknowledgement of the P1 registration, the system didn't capture and so must do it again via the P1-IS portal.

Last year SNGS was 3 times oversubscribed. With 20 more spots, and assuming those who failed in 2B will enrol again. we are looking at application of roughly 90 to 110, which should be slightly lower than 3x oversubscription. The competition should ease abit if not MOE's new rule may not achieve its objective.

Point to note, if you really want to go for SNGS, you should apply today. Sitting on the fence only create a false impression that the applicant number is low and encourage others to join in. If the odds is not something you can bear, you can withdraw.

On your backup choices, there are others like CHIJ Katong or SAC which also have affiliation for your consideration, but between the backups (including MCS), you can read them up after you have made up your 2C choice.

                    All the best!

Thanks so much Lexy for the very helpful perspective! We more or less know that we would stick by what we signed up for. Really appreciate all your inputs🙏🏻

Got an email from the school for document verification and after which they confirmed the registration. Now for prayers, wishes and good luck!
