Hmm… I only know what food NOT to eat while recovering from surgery. No chicken or eggs or prawns.

I would buy Fish Essence (no particular brand).

Avoid prawns, crabs or raw food.

Pple said Vit E cream can help with the scar of the cut.

Actually this is good to know too. I am surprised chicken and eggs are in the list because I read people actually drink chicken essence for surgery too though personally I have always only bought fish essence for people after a surgery.

Thanks for the food list....raw food is an important point for me who loves raw fish!! lol

Oh yes, it didn't occur to me about creams... I think it is important to avoid keloids? Maybe gotta go scout around for one or ask the doctor to prescribe.

Believe surgeon can prescribe the cream to prevent keloid. It did not work for me though. I used silicon gel plaster instead over the wound to flatten it - after wound has healed.

I avoid taking food that promote healing as am prone to over-healing.

You can go to the Skin Centre at Thomson. My nephew had a cut in his face & I bought a cream which prevents keloids for healing, just that I forgot the name. Starts with S. Maybe the pharmacists there can advice. It was a cut fr one of those hard plastic & cut was really jagged coz it broke. He’s a handsome chap as ever now.

All my life I only know the food required to help in recovering from a surgery is fish essence. Used to watch the senior ladies in the extended family boiled the actual fish soup from snakefish but these days I only buy bottled ones.

                  Questions:

                  1. Any other food can help in faster recovery of the cut after an operation?

                  2. For the bottled fish essence, I have bought Eu Ren Sang and New Moon ones before but all as gifts. Anyone who has consumed these or any other brands can shed some light on which brand works best for you?

                  Thank you in advance.
I actually like confinement food a lot. Depends on what kind of surgery, you might want to take lots of fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables, red dates, calcium, probiotics.

We always go for Brand’s chicken/fish essence.

😂 How does one \"over-heal\"?? You mean like what happens during the BCG injection we all had to take in P6 where the injection area would scar which will eventually drop off and scarring occurs?

It's Strataderm which can be bought from the regular pharmacist.
