      This is on JC DSA.

If a student is awared Astar science award (upper sec) and has no other significant recognition in science, what is the chance of DSA Science domain acceptance by RJC/HCI?

If a secondary school student is invited to Hwa Chong Asia-pacific youth leader summit and has no other significant recognition in leadership, what is the chance of DSA leadership acceptance by RJC/HCI?

      Tks
      bbbay,

your Upper Sec son/daughter can always try DSA into RI/Hwa Chong. No try, no gain.

Whether can get in or not, will depend on how competitive his (her) batch is, in terms of the quality of other competitors inside the same age group, from the same batch, and for the same domain that your son/daughter is applying for.

I think I saw in the ST article recently that the percentage of DSA-JC places goes up this year to 20% (from 10% previously) - hence their obligatory “marketing” feature on DSA-JC.

Leadership in secondary school would usually be reflected best if the student holds a core CCA (or prefectorial board CCA) leadership position. That’s what I think lah.[/quote]

If there is Singaporean like this Swedish girl, I think will be accepted by any school through DSA leadership

She is a very brave young lady. The world needs more women leadership, like her. Every generation, sprout out outstanding, unique talented leadership.

            I am curious -
why isn't there a Networking group for DSA, into Junior College(s) ?

I believe most of the children are already in Upper Secondary (as every year seems to fly by so fast) so, it will be great if one can be created.

Students who are going to take their A level also need parents' support & guidance, so it will be good if Upper Secondary students-cum-parents can share & learn from each other.
I think at upper secondary, most kids eyeing DSA already know where they want to go…they are checking reddit forums and discuss over there. Or they ask their seniors. And they usually manage the application process on their own (dont think they need parent’s Singpass).

But, still welcome to have a discussion thread on KSP for parents who want to support their kids.

DSA post secondary should be more apt? Don’t think parents see HCI etc as a JC

Or DSA Pre-U (JC, IP, SOTA)

Hello! Would like to ask about leadership DSA into Junior College. My girl is considering DSA, but we are unsure if she can be shortlisted and there is not much information on the leadership aspect. She holds a leadership position, but not student council/ prefect. Will Jcs still consider? If she is in exco for the other leadership group, is there a chance?

Also is there any information on leadership dsa? Thanks! :imcool:
